watched it with a bolton and a blackburn fan. great day of backing the english side and no pressure being 3 down at halftime as we had nothing at stake.
went on 606 at halftime and thought the chelsea fans were hilarious in their hated of liverpool. saying how they were shaming the country. wish i could find that thread and actually put some names to the culprits.
Did BBC606 exist in 2005?
I should add myself and Mrs Irish had only recently bought our house.

My only company was a bottle of lucozade and a paper to read the reports from the game.

Then power came back on and the wee score in top corner of screen said 3-2 and the place erupted again. Was some night.
2 years later i went to the same pub and sat in the same seat thinking itd be a good omen. Unfortunately it wasnt.

Yeah I joined it around 2004 or 2005 but it wasn't until about 2007 that it was redesigned into this format.
Remember the days of the forum closing at 11pm!

I was on bbc 606 before then it closed at 11pm and was the odd child of the prim and proper bbc services. back then they had no idea how what they had could be a precursor to twitter etc and then killed it off as cost saving. they were more concerned with being sued than realising they had a social media before twitter et al existed.
ok it was more like reddit and ja is a direct copy but the way they used the comments along with old school sms texts on articles that were published was actually a resource for them.
a few guys made a small living off creating advertised sites like ja off the back of their silly decision to shut it down. good for them.

anyway I was at home for the final and I thought bar the goals it wasn't a hammering as some people commented up to HT. yes milan had the class forwards but the reality was we gave them a good game bar traore and really once the first goal after HT went in the whole thing flipped.
We were really just caught out by the class of their forwards and were on the back foot but once hamann came in and the fake injured kewell went off milan really just ended up the side making the errors.
I went for a walk around at HT cos it was bad but was back for the second half. The fans singing in the stadium did make a difference. You have to have the guys to want to pick up on it but singing for your side at 0-3 is what its all about i suppose.
We were spent last march v atletico and the fans were still singing at the end
