85 overs to get 10 wickets
Declare FFS. If you can't defend 300 odd in about 85 overs at home then stop playing.
Yeah, this is overkill. He's cost himself an over with the new ball against (hopefully) the tail, for next to no added benefit.

Used to be much more dynamic, a greater range of shots, just an average county cricketer now

That last comment is harsh, he's still one of the country's best bats. He seemed to be on a bit of a decline before taking the captaincy but that's probably played a part. It might have made him more measured in his batting as well.
I do think he's suffered for being an all-format player, to be honest. I don't think he should be playing t20s any more. Arguably even 50 over cricket has sped up a touch too much for Root
Can only think Root is doubling down on avoiding a defeat here.
Phenomenal effort from Stokes.
That couldn't have gone much better.
Top running this morning though, bought a good few extra runs.
Hopefully that one over won't cost us...
are we waiting for stokes to be out before we declare?
I think England have a 60% chance of winning.
Would probably have prefered a 350 lead though for insurance but England couldn't really afford to risk wasting too many overs.
Stokes will go down as one of the greatest all rounders off all time.
He's like a more consistent and reliable Flintoff.
Have we ever had a better all rounder than Stokes?
Botham was outstanding but played for too long and his stats regressed in the end.
He's a lot better than Freddie. I remember Freddie having a period where he was a very good bowler, but he still only managed three 5 wicket hauls in his career. Stokes has four and double the number of centuries, 10 to 5.
