That's a bit unfair. I'm here to debate but because I disagree with some of you regarding our owners, I'm apparently a WUM. Have you seen social media recently? A LOT of Reds fans are seething with FSG and this whole debacle. Reports circulating today that Klopp contacted FSG for an update on the Werner transfer to be told it wouldn't happen and that he would have to tell Timo himself! Furthermore, there are suggestions now that we will not SPEND A SINGLE PENNY AGAIN THIS SUMMER. And you're telling me that they are still good owners? I think some of you have blind faith in them because they bought us from H&G. They've taken the club as far as they can and they now need to sell to owners who have the financial clout to allow us to buy the world's very best without resorting to a buy to sell policy.
I bet a pound to the penny those people put fvck all money into the club.
Taken the club as far as they can? What? European and League Champions? What's further than that?
If you want to cry over the internet because FSG haven't bought all the footballers by the sixth of June that's up to you but you look silly.

I had a look on twitter. There were lots of people claiming the earth was flat, and a lot saying that 5g is causing coronavirus. If your standard is that a lot of people on twitter are saying something then my question is who cares?
Ypu have ignored it the last 2 or 3 times that I have asked so I will try again. Why are you (a liverpool fan) demanding that we must behave in a manner that would get us banned from the CL and face PL sanctions? I'm a liverpool fan and I feel that this would be detrimental to the club doing well so I'm confused as to why you would advocate this.
You do realise that Chelsea managed to sell a player last summer for up to £150 million? This season our squad is more expensively assembled than Chelsea and they haven't spent in a ridiculous fashion since FFP was brought in.
You realise that Man city have been banned from the CL for 2 years for doing the exact thing that you are demanding of our owners right?
End of the day this little success which we have had we dont want it to just be a 2-3 year thing. We had that under Rafa and then the owners went mental. All the great sides which dominated invested year in year out. We didnt last year but still won the league but that is not a proven model. We had some luck where our best players remained fit other than Alisson.
We already know that next season we were losing 2 key players for a time and the backup is not top 4 standard. I just hope we dont waste this summer. Need to invest in good players.
They've got us to the top granted but have they actually got the clout to keep us there? The best teams are always planning for the future, making additions year on year to improve the squad. That's what we need to do: A massive spress on the likes of Werner, Havertz, Upamecano, Tagliafico etc. That would give us a squad that could dominate for the next 5 years across all comps.
Good points.
I didn't start 'supporting' Liverpool to watch football. Unless I'm getting glory vicariously through the achievements of others then what's the point?

I’d sooner they concentrated on financial stability in the meantime. There’s the possibility next season might be played behind closed doors. They don’t know what, if any, money will be coming in over the next 9 months to a year.

I'm not suggesting FSG Mortgage the future of the club by spending incessantly YOY. Merely we need to spend bigthis summer to reinforce our position at the top or fall behind the likes of City, Chelsea and United who will all spend huge amounts. Arsenal were apparently skint last summer yet still spent £72m on Pepe. Borrow from banks/FSG to ho and buy top quality personnel.
was under the impression that City's proposed ban was because it was their 2nd offence? After their first one they received a fine didn't they and had to slightly reduce their CL squad. No reason why FSG can sanction a massive spress and if we get hit with a fine like City did just pay it and move on. We will have improved the squad and willl be able to dominate for years so surely a risk worth taking. In addition, no club has faced FFP sanctions from the PL have they? I know there were rumours of City losing League titles but those seem to have died.
yes, the best teams are always planning for the future.
that's why they have academies. so they DON'T have to spend fortunes on top class players all the time.
and it's the reason we have players like Woodburn, Brewster, Van Den Berg and Jones at the academy.
ok, you don't rate them, cos obviously teenage academy players should always be at the same level as established first team internationals?
i'd rather trust the judgement of our coaches, who have proven skills and track records in spotting talent and developing it, than some random guy on the internet who wants the club to spend money it doesn't have on lots of players, on high wages, when the revenue we had wouldn't have covered that, and completely ignoring the fact we're in the middle of a social-economic meltdown with no idea when or if revenues will return to previous levels.
Werner is not stupid and weighed up his options and even went public with his musings. He had already decided against joining a club like Liverpool or City because he knows it would be very difficult to break into the 1st XI whereas at Chelsea or United, he'd walk straight into the starting XI.
Chelsea were willing to pay the required fee & offer a package he couldn't turn down that's why he's going to Chelsea.

Woodburn and Brewster are hardly setting the world alight at their loan clubs though are they? Van Den Berg looks like a waste of cash. Every time he has played looked like Bambi on ice. Jones gets a bit more slack because he scored against the bitters but I don't see that he has the quality of say Havertz. Our academy doesn't produce enough quality personnel in my eyes to consider it a viable option over buying proven WC quality. Just my opinion. We can agree to disagree.

Its early days so far but it seems United will do alot of business. Chelsea already stolen a march and City will always spend. Let's hope we can do some business and not buy players who are just stop gaps to fill the squad
course they aren't setting the world alight at their loan clubs. in case you hadn't noticed, they're not playing any bloody games because of the virus.
woodburn done fine on his loans until injury. he was also included in our squad during the CL knockout stages, so he can't have been doing that badly.
and Wilson did fine on his loans as well, he won club player of the month and pfa player of the month awards during his loan to hull.
so, what else do you want to be completely wrong about next?
Let's look at it objectively. Your a PL defender about to play Liverpool. Mane, Salah and Firmino being rested for a CL tie. You see that they will play their back up forwards. You pi$$ yourself laughing knowing you are about to have a right easy afternoon when teally you could have been up against the likes of Werner, Havertz, Sancho etc.
