Thanks for the people who have signed it so far.

Covid19 has not helped this situation either with everyone stuck indoors with not much to do but play their favourite games.
Companies like EA have taken advantage of that.
Stuff like loot boxes have gone unregulated for far too long.

Although this is how some games get released when the developer doesn't have the means to release it otherwise. Free game, people download it without any risk, then make purchases if they wish.

In some cases it will be but not in every game.
There are plenty of older people addicted to stuff like this.
Plus these YouTubers just chucking ££££££ into this stuff for the best items, advertising their amazing 'luck' on the rare items they have got after spending thousands... Kids and adults try their luck and quite often they can't stop.

Exactly. It is extremely addictive. It's like gambling, for kids. Although of course adults do it too.

They see others with amazing items and the only way to compete with people on your level is to spend money like they did. People tell themselves just one more £15 and before they know it they've spent £1000 over the course of a year, normally on a game theyve already spent £50 on.

Signed. An absolute disgrace that these companies (EA are the worst that I know of) are allowed to encourage gambling - particularly among younger people.

Also making games like FIFA basically a pay-to-win has ruined the Actual game imo.

i remember watching that youtube streamers scandal where they opened boxes with fake odds for their accs n turned out even owned shares in the companies doing it. cant remember their names but prob easy find with a quick google.

The problem is the companies loot boxes are so sly that most parents don't even realise when they buy their children games that they are exposed to blatant gambling.

Activision once had a mechanism in one of the recent COD games where you would automatically go into lobbies with superior guns that you only get in loot boxes, to make you so sick of dying to it you want to do the same 😅

How mental is that. Other games slide Destiny tried to actually take activities in the base game if you didn't buy the latest dlc.... a massive spotlight is needed.

ea are the worst, atleast with fornite they dont release a new game every year making what you had pointless, but people are stupid enough to do it every year

fortnite doesnt have loot boxes, they have a store as its a free game, fifa is a £60 game that then sells back which give you nothing at a couple £ each
