Some new signings next week would be a good move get in first and snap up the bargains
Done Deal
Ali Crawford a new two-year deal
The Crawford deal is very good news.
Number 1 and 2 out of contract players Darcy and Crawford retained which is good news.
Meanwhile in Macc the EFL are again appealing against their appointed commission.
That could delay the arrival of a fixture list.
What will the EFL do with Wigan don't betting scandals carry a thrown out of the leagues penalty.
The jigsaw is coming together I listened to the podcast on Ian Evatt nearly an hour, but he seems to know what he wants, and it sounds like we will be fitter than ever, especially when he learns about the Up’s n downs of Rivington Pike.
He talks of being load and noticeably in the tunnel before K.O. running of the pitch at half time, being the fittest team in the league, all very positive. It looks like I may be staying in Blighty a while so a season ticket 🤔
Maybe.
Golden, we have more or less decided that we won't go back to Spain this year. We will go back in February for a short stay just to make sure our properties are in good order and then head back in May for the summer.
Regarding football, Everything is indeed looking positive and we have secured the signing of Ali Crawford which is a bonus. I'm sure that Tobias and Ian will land us the players that we need to get us back into league one. After that, it gets harder but if the management team performs as hoped and injuries can be kept to a minimum, we will be on our way.
I'm looking forward to getting to see a few games.
If anyone wants mates rates in our rental property in Spain for next year, It's on an award-winning holiday complex with five pools and lots of facilities, let me know and I'll give you a good deal. 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Mike pollitt gk coach has left the club.

I could be staying here permanent I have developed a skin condition that’s not suited to the sun 🌞
The family will take over the property so I can go anytime but I think I will be in Lytham for a while yet so a season ticket will keep me out of mischief hopefully it will turn out a good year, with thermal socks etc.
I'm sorry to hear that you have developed a problem which means that you won't be able to stay in Spain. As you know in the last three years we have spent more time in England than we have in Spain. However, we will be going back to Spain each year for four months each summer, excepting this summer. I don't really call the weather that we are experiencing at the moment summer weather, it's more like winter with the persistent rain and high winds. I was looking forward to spending summer here but it has focussed my mind that I will be going back each summer.
On footballing matters, I'm sorry to see that Mike Pollitt has left the club. I wonder if it's necessary to change all the backroom staff when a new manager is appointed. It makes me wonder if Mathews will be re-appointed or if we are in for a change in our goalkeeper.
Footballing matters at the UniBol are moving at a pace so, I expect that we will find out quite quickly.
Complete new broom required that includes Darby, lee going too. I remember pollitt kissing the wigan badge in front of the north side after they beat us 1-0 so not sad to see him go. Complete fresh start with no one lingering on from the last 3 years of failure and that includes player Hobbs, Murphy, lowe. The only one I'm torn on is Matthews who is the only out of contract player I would keep although evatt will probably bring another keeper in. We need to be ruthless if we are to change that losing mentality which is ingrained in the club.
Fair comment Benny. Of course, I wasn't aware of Pollitt kissing the Wigan badge. There is no room for anyone at BWFC that isn't 100% on board, even if they have played for the opposing team. As for the losing mentality, I also agree with your sentiments on that. The only problem with Matthews is whether or not we will get a better keeper in if we let him go
Last season’s top goal-scorer in League Two, Eoin Doyle, could be the next imminent signing.
Rumour is that we could be looking to bring Spearing back as well as he has left Blackpool.
Not sure if I buy that one particularly, strikes me as either lazy journalism or his agent stirring the pot.
Eoin Doyle, 25 goals in 36 games. When did we last have a striker who achieved anything like that kind of ratio of goals scored to games played? We would have to go back quite some time. Rumours are that he has agreed to come to the Unibol. Hopefully, it will be true. As Ian Evatt was a former teammate at Chesterfield, I think it is quite likely to be correct.
The prospect of him coming was muted sometime last week or the week before. All we need now is several good defenders, a good keeper, and a couple of players who can give him good service so he can knock them into the back of the net.
Looks like doyle is more or less done. 3 year contract and £5000 a week. Wow.
We'll need to be winning while playing exciting pleasing on the eye football to dish out a contract like that.
I hope we'll have a get of contract card at that price to cover our backs.
If the ceiling of £1.5 million is imposed by the EFL, that will be a very large chunk of the wages budget on one player. That is of course if it turns out to be true. He really will need to deliver the goals, otherwise, it could be a big problem with a three-year contract. I thought that we were finished with long contracts and high wages.
Can we ask FV to bring back the Horwich Chronicle so we can have better reporting and a decent read about all things Wanderers.
It would be one way of building a new relationship with the press.
I've just taken a look at BWFC site and no confirmation of Eoin Doyle having signed as yet. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring the news that he has signed or that his wages demand of £5,000 a week is too high.
Signing him would be a statement of intent to get us moving back up the leagues but I wouldn't want the club to go back to its old ways of paying too much with too long a contract. A three-year contract is great if he can continue to score plenty of goals but if it all goes wrong it could be a noose around the neck of the club.
How many in what positions are we short if we are to start training soon are we going to see a mass announcement of signings.
If they announced season tickets on the same day as something like that it would be a cunning plan to create rush on the ticket office
according to the Beano Evatt and Tobias are still looking at the type of players we are going to need. A lot of studying the list of players and then running the stats of individual players through the Enigma machine to see who fits the bill. I hope that the machine doesn't develop a fault, otherwise we could be in trouble.
I don't see season ticket sales anytime soon. I also don't see crowds allowed in September either the way things are going. Still no news either on refunds for last season.
Is it possible that the club will be offering discounts on season tickets for the fans that are holders of last seasons ticket holders? if so it could be a good deal for the fans and also for the club. The problems caused by COVID 19 are not ideal especially if you have forked out money for games that won't be played. However, I can't see FV doing the wrong thing by the fans. after all, you are the people who help to fund the club.
I was pleased to read in the BN that Evatt is planning to get the team in early for pre-season training. All we need now is a squad.
Think of all the money folk saved by not going to the match the fans should be well in front now and could afford an increase
