Watch all our games for the full 90 minutes and you will doon see there is no consistency in decisions in our games. It goes back years. Apparently due to David Dein being too powerful so hs enemies put people in positions of power who hate Arsenal. Dein is gone but they are not. The hate filters through the levels.

Intention has nothing to do with the laws of the game. Referees make the decision solely based on whether it was dangerous or not.

Nketiah was a red card, in my opinion, Vardy’s challenge was a red too.

I think Diaby should have been sent off. Likewise Stephen Hunt. For the same reason Mane got a red vs Manchester City.

I agree it is an area filled with inconsistencies. But nothing in the laws of the game mentions intention. The referee has to judge only whether it was dangerous, and thus serious foul play.

As referees are fallible humans making subjective calls on whether a tackle is dangerous, it is not a shock that pre-VAR there were loads of inconsistencies.

FWIW I would not be opposed to thinking about intention when it comes to tackles, I am just saying referees are instructed explicitly not to do so.

I’m not saying they’re the same mate I’m just saying I can’t even tell on replay if it’s intentional, if it is accidental it’s not different in theory to the situations mentioned. Someone even thinks diaby should be sent off for flinging a boot when John Terry went for a diving header. It looks accidental to me, even if it’s not it’s too hard to tell if Vardy means if for a referee to show red
