Welcome back Jonty! A huge step forward tonight. I wasn’t that confident after Luton but that’s the LUFC rollercoaster. Incidentally, as one of his biggest critics, I was thinking at 4-0 I would love Bamford to score. A perfect end to the evening. MOT!!

Subtle comment from Michael O'Neill " only consolation is we won't have to play a team of that calibre the rest of the season"
They have Brentford coming up !!

Excellent team performance from the whole squad. Pablo coming on 2nd half a a masterstroke.

Can someone e-mail the lyrics to MOT to the Fat Lady?

This has to demoralise Brentford. They can’t do any more, but we keep holding them off, their balloon might just burst now

Welcome back big J

I think they’re nursing Pablo because of injury but in doing so may have hit on a formula. If Roberts knows he’s playing 45 he can run himself into the ground. Pablo comes on fresh legged against tiring defences and gets a bit more space to play in.

The long seasons have often seen his form dwindle ur get more sporadic, usually looking very leggy in his bad games. After the break, he looks as fresh as a daisy and on top of his game at the moment. We all know what a talent he is, and how his football brain gets the team ticking when he’s on song.

As I said on the match thread - we threw a real psychological punch tonight.

Only thought I have is that we are going up as fooking champions

Totally agree, absolutely fantastic today.. Dominated through out on every level.

Hard to single out anybody as they were all brilliant, but Bamford was another level!

Give Dallas credit too.. magnificent tonight.. a player I’ve doubted If he was good enough many times too.

Let’s finish it now! I have a feeling Brentford will draw at Derby.. regardless, 3 points for us we’ll be there, nearly

Side

Yessssss, bring it on!!!!

A truly brilliant result for us tonight - well done to everyone at the club for that! Great game. Thought Stoke did well to frustrate us in the first half but at was stated on Sky, the relentless attacking wears down the opposition. We bagged a hatful tonight and could have scored more! Fantastic!

The thing I hate about some of our fans though is that if bamford hadent got that goal with the last kick there would be people having a go at him and saying he was useless throughout, even though he was ace today, and would have been without the goal.

At the moment in think pablo coming off the bench is perfect for us.

Tired legs when his ain't and his passing just cuts teams to shreds.

Also, while in think he should have scored indent see any reason to drop Roberts at the moment, he is playing well and deserves a run in the team

Theres been some twaddle spoken on here and on social media, we are top of the league with 4 games to go and 6pts clear of 3rd, we were the best team last year and are the best team this, unbelievable how people still find fault and when we do go up remember its only taken the owner 2 full seasons to do it,
Ps welcome back Jonty

I’ve been a critic of bamfords this season... should have scored more than he is and at times as looked very poor and below average.

However, no one would have had a go at him if he missed that chance. He’s been sensational since the lockdown return - especially shooting wise and all round play in and around the box. Some of us call it like it is.... hope he carries on next 4 games

^^^^^

I'm not a fan of his. But thought he was brilliant today.
And since the restart, he's consistently been good.
Can't be easy with all the pressure on top of no one
to spell him. But, he's done a fantastic job.

Thought we were excellent albeit against a dreadful Stoke side who defended poorly for all the goals. Feet on the ground, need 2 more wins yet.

I actually think bamford overall game has been worse since the lockdown. Tonight he was superb but in the previous 4 games his general involvement and hold up play have been off. 3 goals in 5 games. 16 for the season. Overall he’s had a decent season for us. Not in line for player of the season but he should be credited as Forever a hero should we get there.

Thought he was decent at Cardiff without receiving anything from mid. Poor vs Fulham and taken off but took his chance well. Excellent vs Blackburn hit both posts and the cross bar tonight (a perfect woodwork hat trick)...scored and dummy for Pablo - all round game miles better

Quote of the day from a Stoke fans forum?
Terrible show today.

Bamford is frustrating, but I’ve never got the haters. You can’t fault his effort and work rate. Bottom line is he ain’t Allan Clarke and never will be, Not a natural finisher, but still top scorer, got to live with that. The boss man seems to

He’s now joint 5th top scorer in the league and dosnt take penalties
