I don’t think so. He was injured for a while and has perhaps not shown himself to be as effective as our other options in his position this season in the chances he has got, especially against PL-level opposition.
Lampard has shown with Tammy, Tomori Mount and James that you’ll get a fair chance under him
Overrated player. Next season he won't get a kick with the new attacking talent being signed.
Looks like Pulisic has usurped him as Chelsea’s new young star. Sounds strange to say given CHO hadn’t really done much in a Chelsea shirt, and Pulisic was bought for £50m, but the hype and expectation around CHO seemed to be bigger than Pulisic’s.
Looks a talent but might find it hard to get regular game time in the premier league next season. Reckon Chelsea might loan him out to develop more, or keep him as a squad depth player?
I still think he's going to be a fantastic player. He needs an injury free preseason followed by a season where he'll get regular game time.
Maybe next season he needs a loan to to a PL club, especially if Willian stays. But I still think Hudson-Odoi can become a phenomenal PL player.
I think Lampard is trying to teach him a lesson - what with the police incident and perhaps not reaching the levels he could, I wonder if he’s hoping he’ll draw a reaction from him.
Next season will be the one to watch if it’s going to happen I guess.
I think it's been a case of bad timing for him Biggish.
He was starting to get some decent time under Sarri but then picked the injury putting him out until this season.
By the time he'd returned to fitness, Frank had taken over and started to blood more academy players and my thinking is, he wouldn't have been up to full match fitness straight away and Frank would have been reluctant to throw too many young players in at the same time.
The lads he has put his trust in, have repaid that and made it hard to leave them out.
I think he's the most naturally talented (Not the one with the most potential - front and center Reece James) of the academy graduates.
I think next season will be a better barometer of how much Frank thinks of him!

Same here Superb!
I personally think the time's right for Willy to move on. He's been a good player for us but too inconsistent IMO.
Noticably this season has been one of his best in a while and the cynic in me says, "Is this because he's playing for a new contract?"
If Willy should depart with Pedro, I'd still expect CHO to see plenty of minutes even with Pulisic looking the real deal, Ziyech and potentially Havertz coming in!
Timing will always be one of the most important factors in an academy player making a mark for the first team. This season has been perfect timing for all of them but CHO. And as a result he seems to have fallen back a bit as far as the academy graduates are concerned. That injury couldn’t have come at a worse time for him.
I’d be interested to get Cmf’s perspective on this being such a fan of Cho & Lampard but a huge Sarri hater

I would not be against a 6 or 3 month loan next year with a return to fight in the first team if he has a good spell. Surely a west ham or someone he could play week in week out

I agree Brum. If it was up to me I'd move Willian on this summer as I'm not sure he's going to fit with how we're going to set up next season, especially with the likes of Ziyech, Werner and maybe Havertz coming in and the consequential style of play.
But also because it would potentially give Hudson-Odoi much more game time next season than he'd anyway get if Willian stays. There's no doubt that Willian is blocking Hudson-Odoi's path as things stand.

Absolutely, Chelsea have shown compromise by breaking their one year deal only policy for over 30's, for a player approaching 32, but if that's not being reciprocated by Willy then we should just wave goodbye to him anyway.
It's not like we're going to be short of options for that position next season and will allow for greater development of CHO.
Personally I think that Willian is living in la la land thinking he'll get a three year contract.
