PL best and worst keeper save %

Never knew Bosnich was that good consistently either

As the tweeter pointed out no goal keeper over 82% for 10 years now.

Sign of how the game has switched to a more attacking stance I’d imagine

He was a very good keeper in the early PL years. Went off the rails on and off the pitch after he moved to us

Best goalkeeping performance I’ve ever seen was by Mark Bosnich

This stat doesn't give the full picture. If you have a rubbish and disorganised defence, the keeper will likely face more unsaveable shots.

Your defence at the start of the season when Kepa was playing was awful.

Cech play behind a great defence at Chelsea, forcing the opposition to shoot from difficult angles/positions. He wasn't afforded this at Arsenal.

Bosnich was brilliant at Villa. Had those DDG type reflexes.

I still can’t believe this guy cost £72m.

Chelsea’s defence isn’t the reason Kepa has the worst save percentage in premier league history. It’s because he’s shiiiiiit at saving shots.

It's a bit of both.

Chelsea's defence on the opening day against Utd was horrendous.

DDG isn't even on the top part of the list for his 'superman' seasons. Because the defence was crap.

I can't disagree with this. Bad positioning, bad angles, bad shot stopping, bad starting position, bad glove position ... a disaster waiting to happen. He should be at least in the middle of the stats for shots/save percentage. He saves incredibly few shots, it's incredible.

Thesis: So getting a save % of 90 and above comes from combining a great ‘keeper with great defenders and a well organised defensive team.

Would be interesting to compare with Atletico/Oblak or Courtois or Juve/Buffon

But Chelsea’s defence is one of the reasons Kepa concedes so many, it’s not the reason he’s so bad at saving shots. Tim Krul conceded the most in the league, but actually won Norwich’s player of the season because it would have been a hell of a lot worse without him. If Chelsea had a keeper that was even above average they’d have conceded a lot less.

This stat sums it up. Faced harder shots as well as poor shotstopper:

The Ziyech one is really good. Like to think that was going through his head/it was intentional.

Alonso - sell
Tomori -get fit
Rudiger - remind him what defending looks like
Zooms/James - believe in yourself
Emerson - unsure probs sell
Azpi - as you were generally...i'm told you're a god anyway
