I know City can afford a replacement. That's not the issue I'm talking about. What I'm angry about is that Tevez has shown no respect to Man City by doing this, despite all that city have done for him. Surely you can agree with this?

--------

i have already said that tevez has acted like a child, but city have known that he has an attitude before he signed him, and that didnt stop them. no sympathy.

they signed him, slapped him on RIDICULOUS wages, and then captained him.

Why can't Man City sack Tevez? Surely it's justified.

why would they want to? then he can just go off on a free to anyone he wants....

man city should just run down his contract

City are lucky in that they have a replacement in Aguero. This shouldn't be too much of a problem for them.

Blah blah blah, heard it all before.

City are ruining football, leaving clubs that try to keep within their spending limits to buy players where and when they can.

And don't be whining about UEFA loop-holes to me... your stadium sponsorship deal is as dodgy as anything seen in the history of football finance, yet your owners have got nothing to worry about there by the looks of things.

You do realise that we were better than Tottenham even before RA bought Chelsea, don't you?

Erm, actually you were on the brink of bankruptcy.

What about your own at the time? You signed a stupid deal that took into account no inflation whatsoever, so you got left behind by everyone, not just us.

Your second paragraph shows a complete lack of knowledge of your own clubs history, and your third is complete nonsense, seeing as it was a lot more than stadium sponsorship and the full details have not been enclosed to the press.

Do you think football would be better off if there was no outside investment in it? Have you any knowledge whatsoever of football and ownership outside of the premiership and how much investment it takes to make a lot of clubs even close to profitable?

Totally agree with Lex and Chronic.
I cannot take City and Chelsea seriously. They have purchased the league, City will so do so just like Blackburn before them.
City have created this monster called Tevez. Sow shall they reap. 250k a week. Remember that tacky welcome to Manchester poster?- well he hates it there!! LOL Only 'massive club' City could still make fools of themselves despite having billions in the bank.

Chelsea also finished 4th the season before abramovich bought Chelsea. Kinda ruins the myth that we were a mid-table club doesn't it

Quit your whining melton.

Your club has got what it deserves.

A mercenary getting paid well over the odds to play to... what's your average attendance. 30-35k?

What's more, this will only prove to be the tip of the ice-berg too.

Never mind... they're just following your example and turning their backs on you.

must have missed that one... i guess it was before my time.

face it.. when roman gets bored of his toy then chelsea will cease to exist

Let's just forget it Lexington. you obviously don't want to argue the point as you don't have the knowledge of either your own club or football in general to back up your point.

I thought Tevez made a perfectly sensible decision...I couldn't see the point of going on either.

More like it's late and I've not the inclination to get into a lengthy debate with someone who apparently has no qualm over the direction their club has taken in the last few years.

That's fair enough I guess. Without the oil money you were never going to get anywhere near achieving anything.

To be honest, I've nothing against City fans.

This is as much to do with the direction football has taken generally, as it is to do with any one club.

There certainly is an element of karma about this whole Tevez situation though.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out with the media too now that their new darlings appear to be in disarray.

posted on 27/9/11

I don't think you could call us media darlings, surely that is still reserved for our neighbours!

I can understand the feeling that this is the direction football is going (and tevez as the modern player), but the point I was making is that outside investment into football has happened every decade since football began - it is nothing new, nor has that ruined football before. There are plenty of other factors for the state of football at the moment, not just rich owners.

You will be hard pressed to find any city fan
who does not like our owners. Not just because of the investment into the club, but the investment into the area that simply wouldn't have happened from any council or uk taxpayer perspective.

You could also say that paying stupid money for adebayor, clichy, nasri and toure has been a big contributing factor to your profit figures as well over the last two years, so you have benefited as well, remember!
