I almost thought he was a little overrated even at his part. Been involved in a few right pastings. Can’t see him coming to the fastest league in the world at 36 and looking quality.
Dno tbh, pretty sure we challenged with a worse def n keeper in 13/14?
I dont think their def will be anywhere near as bad this season either even without a new gk or defensive signing. Rudiger n kante played half the season? Drop kepa and keep them fully fit for a season will improve them. Also see more of tomori, and chillwells not great defensively but hes an improvement over alonso there whos like having moreno in ur team, playing with a man down in def.

Can’t see it being less than 90 points again this season with City and Liverpool around.
You probably can’t be conceding much more than 30 to hit that amount.

Depends how deep the back line is. He’s a good player and would provide some much needed leadership.

I don’t think he’s any better than what they have in reality.
They’ll score a lot of goals but will still lose a number of games.
You’re always going to have days in any season where you’re attacking players just aren’t at it, and when you have a leaky defence and goalkeeper it will cost you eventually.
Really surprised they haven’t saved their budget in areas for where they really need improvement. If they spend the money on Koulibaly or Oblak instead of Havertz for example I would be a lot more worried about them next season.

Wasn't there an article on here that was about Thiago Silva going to Liverpool? What's happened to that move?
Whatever, Silva will bring a calming influence to the defense and let's say Chelsea get him then their current CBs, both of who are farcical at best would need someone of Silva's experience.

Yes, you're right GK and central defence is still an issue.
It was going to be difficult to rectify all the issues in 1 window.
Hopefully with a better attack we don't leave ourselves as exposed as we did last season. Having Kante back fit could also be important.
I think we're waiting on the availability of Rice and for West Ham to drop their valuation, might not be until next summer now. Likewise, it's difficult to find a club for Kepa as he's on high wages.
We'll probably get in two relatively cheap stop gaps at CB and GK for this season, hence the links to Thiago Silva and Ben Foster

Tis, zoumas prob same level and tomori is more promising than both are/were too.
Chelsea undoing will be the pressure on Lampard. He can't use the transfer ban excuse (even though they spend 100m and 2 players). Roman has given him the cash and now he has to ensure they challenge for the title and CL.
Towards end of season Lampard has shown the pressure get to him. First his ridiculous argument with Klopp and then get schooled by Arteta in FA cup final.
Silva would stroll the Premier League. Would be a big improvement to the Chelsea defence and ideal next to Rudiger or Zouma.
They all sound good on paper, apart from chillwell. Ziyech - meh.
But no guarantees they will adjust to the PL.

all of his goals came in the group stage/round of 32, he didn't score in our last 4 matches. mkhitaryan was more instrumental in that cup win, and he won't live long in the memory of most united fans.
