Depends whether:
- Liverpool strengthen
- City get Messi

If they go into the season as they are now I've a feeling a motivated City will win it.

Tottenham (Because you always have a chance when you have Mourinho)

If the question was "Who are the most likely to implode?" you'd be right.

City, only just. Last season was huge for Liverpool and now they've finally got their PL title I think they won't give it as much as they have. No one else can compete with those 2 at the moment.

1* Other - Manchester United FC

Hope this helps Wahl.

I think Chelsea are favourites personally. A lot of pressure on Lampard to deliver now with the signings Chelsea have made.

Have they strengthened at all yet in their weakest area?

I agree with this, although if they both fail to hit the sort of tallies they've been hitting the last few seasons and get nearer 90 points, then I wouldn't rule out another team being in the mix.

Depends if City get Messi, but then even that will not be enough to stop Utd if we get Rooney. Everyone wants to see the people's champions back where we belong.

Spurs not ready for a title challenge yet. Think Mourinho will look to try and win Europa instead.

I’d make Liverpool just about favourites although don’t think they will walk it this time.

Right now, I'd say it's a tough call between Liverpool and City. Neither have strengthened significantly imo; Liverpool have added a back up LB and City signed Ake and Torres but lost Sane and Silva. Arguably Ake addresses an identified issue though.

It's often said that it's more difficult to retain the title than win in (not necessarily Liverpool's experience over the preceding 30 years...) so I can understand why City are slight favourites.

Transfers in the next month may well give a clearer favourite though.

Naby, what about Chelsea?

My dark horses are Arsenal but I expect City to win it.
Jose leaving Spurs won't be a massive shock. He's been quite jovial in that documentary so far but that'll soon change!

City lost Sane a year ago when he was injured. Torres strengthens them and Ake suits their style of play much more than Stones/ Otamendi.

Laporte being fit for a season will also be like a new signing.

Has any team in any of the top leagues who've had Europa gone on to win a title?

They'll be fun to watch and will probably score a lot of goals but they were the 3rd highest scorers in the league anyway. They conceded as many goals as Brighton and I'm not convinced a 36 year old CB and a decent but unspectacular LB totally solves that. Plus there is continuing uncertainty with the GK - Lampard certainly doesn't seem to have confidence in Kepa.

It wouldn't surprise me if it takes them 10-15 games to gel either, there's a lot of new players.

Another season to bring through James and Tomori (if they're as good as people think) and they could/should be a real threat in 2021/22.

Liverpool.

They will win it by miles again.

That of course is as it stands now. Ask again when the window shuts.

City will certainly bring new blood in. They have to.

Spurs don’t have any chance what so ever. None. Nadda. Zlich. Diddly Squat.
