Of course it will be Nick. Lampard has spent over £200m this summer, two hundred million. And it’s unlikely to be stopping there.
If you don’t challenge for the league this season having spent that kind of money, it will have been a massive failure.
Lampard got a free ride in his first season given the circumstances, there are no excuses for him this time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Klopp stated it before he went out, spending big. I think Lampard is well set, I would expect someone coming in to make them more solid at the back.
But they can also do a Liverpool/City and press teams up high and have very little defensive work to do.
Title between Liverpool and City. Chelsea to push them close.
Relegation for West Ham, club just seems poison. West Brom and Palace to make up the bottom three
I read that the transfers this summer total 230 million. Almost a quarter of a billion in one summer
That’s really obscene
It wasn’t really expected of Liverpool to challenge for the league in 2018/19 anyway. City had just got 100 points. It was a massive surprise that Liverpool pushed them so close. Everyone expected them to run away with it again as everyone was so far off them.

Not really. It’s about what we got for morata hazard and cl. Also not surprising considering we were banned.

I know Liverpool are champions but it is City that the chasing will need to hang on to the coattails of.

No it won’t. But keep believing what you want. Money spent doesn’t mean instant success. Man City had to get 100 points two years ago to beat this pool team who then got 99 this year. The two highest totals of all time. If you think Chelsea will get 90 plus points then fair play. But I don’t see it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No idea whether us or City will be as good as previous years, or whether Chelsea will be challenging, but they certainly should be in my opinion.
Arouna- West Ham will be fine, despite your obsession with them.
Fair enough. I can’t see any way they would be. Half our team been isolating. New transfers to bed in in the shortest summer break ever. Chilwell injured first couple of months. Team will need time to bed in and help
Everyone has shiiit to deal with. Stop whining. Its pathetic.
It is pathetic. You're looking for any and every reason to put Chelsea down.
I do suspect Roman will have higher expectations of Lampard than the fans, in fairness. Whether that’s to challenge for the league or not I’m not sure. But he is a man that wants his club to win. If Chelsea aren’t even close it won’t be a surprise if Lampard’s replaced with a top coach.

He isn’t renowned for being a patient man.
I don’t expect that to change with Lampard, particularly given this summer’s outlay.
Yeah any more than 12 points off and questions should definitely be asked. I think any improvement and signs that we are pushing forward Lampard will be fine. Still see pool running away with it

Yeah that’s how I feel.
Two years at Chelsea is plenty of time to prove he’s up to the job. If there aren’t better signs of this next season I don’t see Roman keeping him on just because he’s Lampard.
Plenty of top coaches would love to manage this group of players. I think they’ll have an easier time attracting the top attacking managers now they no longer have a team that is built for parking the bus.
Wel there were signs last year. Got through group stages of cl, fa cup final and top 4 with an injured and base squad. And not a very good one.
