Don’t know how many COVID diagnoses it takes to lead to a postponement. The orient v Spurs league cup tie was called off tonight because ‘several’ orient players tested positive. Don’t know how many is several

I read that Orient had 10 positives, not sure it was all players mind. Their chairman was on the radio earlier saying that Spurs paid for them to be tested under the premier league protocols rather than EFL and it was those tests that returned a large number of positives. Makes you wonder how the EFL regime differs from the PL. He did start to explain something about a graduated system in the Prem but either didn't understand it fully or realised he wasn't supposed to share the details and cut himself off mid sentence.

Hope you win 0-10 and get loads of their players sent off and injured.

Well me too, whilst watching it like on a yacht in Miami with Jennifer Aniston and Kelly Brooke.

Nelson Semedo is apparently travelling to Wolverhampton this evening, having said his farewells to the Barca fans on Instagram. Swapping La Rambla for Dudley Street and Placa de Catalunya for Queens Square and the Mon on the Oss will be a seamless transition I'm quite sure. Shame Pop World will probably be shut by the time he gets in to town though.

If wishes were horses, Looters would ride.
If turnips were watches, Raptit' would wear one by his side.

Looks to be a really good signing. It was obvious first half on Monday that we missed Doc so hopefully that has now been well and truly remedied.

So will Semedo but an upgrade on Doc ?

posted on 23/9/20

I wonder if Semedo was looking likely before or after they decided to sell Doc. I'd like to think before but not sure.

Under 21's lost 0-4 to Oldham in their EFL Trophy match. Team:

Young, Scott (Matheson 82), Lonwijk, Marques, Estrada, Bueno, Cundle, Otasowie (Hong Wan 63), Corbeanu, Campbell (Carty 64), Samuels.

Fee being quoted for Semedo is €30m with potential add ons of €10m

Quite a contrast in reporting on Semedo, some journos with positive vibes others suggesting we have paid too much and will he even be an upgrade on Doherty. Similar with the fans, hardly an outpouring of grief and some ecstatic he has gone.

On the plus side he did give Neymar a smack one time so can't be all bad and hopefully he just needs a new beginning and will feel right at home at Wolves.

He is certainly pacy but his goal/assist record is pretty poor with only 10 goals in his career in 252 games Assist wise he has 32 in those 252 games.

You would like to think they wouldn’t have sold Doc unless there was confidence that they could get someone at least as good in. I was concerned when the Maitland-Niles deal fell through because it looked like he was the man lined up. But maybe Jorge new Semedo was available all the time

Interesting to see the madness that is Barca wages. Semedo wasn't on a lot and presumably we are paying him more than that? Or maybe not. Messi's wage is insane

Oof, must have been some late goals in that, last I saw it was 1-0.

Great news on Semedo, cant say I have really taken much notice of him before, just another Barcelona superstar that you could never imagine coming to Wolves, but here he is.

Difficult to say whether he will be an upgrade on Doc, but all the indications are that he probably will be. You need to be pretty good to play 124 games for Barca.

After watching City play us off the park in the first half this week it’s great to look back at their fans going into meltdown at them supposedly having agreed terms with one of the best wing backs in the world, with Semedo lined up to join them in May.

Nice to have got one over Pep. Seems that the only reason they are now prepared to sell is that their new Dutch manager wants more Dutch players in the dressing room

Who is the West Ham LB, he must be having kittens about now with the thought of Semedo and Traore running at him at the same time
