missed 35 minutes of PL action in 2 years (and counting), so don't get your hopes up.
Pepe should have all of this season to prove himself. He didn't cover himself in glory when he came on but we've spent a significant amount on him so its only right to invest some time in him. If we haven't seen a significant improvement by the end of the season then we should look at other options.
Allison, TAA, VVD, Robertson, the front 3. They have world class players all over the pitch and a functional midfield to glue it all together. They are a machine. Pretty sure they would cope with a few injuries
No idea why Ceballos didn't start. Arteta fooled by the English Super Cup victory? AMN and Tierney lost their usual connection for some reason, maybe because of the pairing in midfield?
And, yes, the Mane incident was disgusting. Not to mention he should have been booked for going through the back of Bellerin after the ball had gone even earlier. Straight red for the challenge on Tierney all day. So many Liverpool fouls ignored as well.
But yes I agree, why doesn't all these potential talking points get some replays on our screens. Even the multiple offsides that got called during the match, I was waiting for a replay and nothing was shown. Every match I've watched they show almost all of them. Not saying they were incorrect just that it would have been nice to verify it for myself too.

Liverpool are arguably the best team in Europe. That buys them loads of browny points with the refs. Its how Fergie used to dominate for so long. City have lost their advantage they had for a while.
Tbh it's odd how Nelson isn't getting more of a look in.

Pepe has half a season to prove himself i feel. He has had a season to bed in but still looks as new to the league as he did last year. I dont understand why...as afast and tricky player, he does not run at defenders more. Commit them to fouls...maybe yellow cards and red cards.
Mane had 2 yellow card offences...the Bellerin one if that happened after 20 mins is a yellow (i know I know...time on the clock should not matter...it certainly does not prevent us picking up bookings early) and the Tierney one...i think is a very strong yellow but I have seen reds given.

We’ve invested more in Ozil and he’s been (rightfully) banished. Price tag shouldn’t be factored in. Saka is better than Pepe at pretty much everything and has a way higher ceiling for improvement. He cost us nothing. I know which of the 2 I’d rather invest in.

Saka should be starting. Even when he is shiiit he is putting effort in, and even pops up with 2 assists.

J99 you can't say we're hamstrung making new signings atm due to the players on high wages we can't get rid of, without taking into account the ridiculous amount of money we invested in a player, our club record signing, who can't make the starting XI on a regular basis.
