I watched the game and thought other than being defensively poor for the goals there was a lot of promise.
Very impressed with Ian. Ribeiro who?
For the question about being defensively sound? We had 7 players who weren’t here last season, 4 of those in defence. Probably out two 1st choice CBs are injured.
Even the Bristol commentary said we were going to be a very good side when we click.
Personally, I think we’ll be better than last season once we’re up and running. The International break is vital.
A lot of promise yesterday, despite the results.
Not many taking bets this year
I’ll 💯 take a bet.
Note* I will take 2 months to pay the bet. On purpose.
Not one for posting very often, but I believe that we should give Lamouchi longer. We had just beat Leeds last season and some leeds fans were calling for Bielsa to go. Where are they now. !!! As much as I dislike Leeds, they will probably hold their own in the league.
Listening to a few that that actually saw the whole game yesterday, I’m wondering whether giving Sabri more time would possibly be the right thing....we might lose a few more, but there were plenty of positives for some people
It may just take time for the team to click
I don’t know?
The argument against that is 2 fold
1. Time isn’t something that is necessarily given. And irrespective of what we all want or think, it’ll be the owner makes the decision - and if Mr M want him gone, he’ll be gone, rightly or wrongly
2. I wonder whether Forest looked more improved (as they have done in a few of their games after they’ve gone behind) because in the 2nd half Bristol City took their foot off the leafy, the damage had been done, and so there was no need for the to be as attacking - I don’t know, maybe we were just unlucky again
Irrespective of whether it’s bad luck, a new team, injuries, were in a results business, which seems to overrule all other decisions
Whether getting rid now is just short sightedness, the right thing, typical Forest or a stroke of genuine, only time will tell
But it certainly won’t be because of the views relayed in this forum - were just the paying and emotionally involved onlookers
I like Sabri, and really hope if he’s given a bit more time, he can start getting the results to get us at the other end of the table - yes it’s early days, and in 1993/4 we were 4th from bottom in October/November and still finished the season in automatic place - I’m not tidally convinced it’ll pan out like that - we’ll just have to wait and see what happens over the International break
If we’re sticking, then the teams really do need a change of fortune....fast!
If we’re gonna make a change, then it must be for someone who knows this League, and has proven at some level he has what it takes, not yet another unknown foreigner
We have now played 3 good halves of football, unfortunately in 3 different games, admittedly in two of the games we were chasing a deficit, so maybe the opposition lets us play, however, we looked better. Also keep in mind Grabban is missing easy chances for fun, that will change, and their keeper was easily mom yesterday. I feel Sabri has to be given more time, though that doesn’t mean he will get it. I don’t fancy getting more than a point at Blackburn, but the games after that have potential, if you can’t perform in El Cloughico, then you have no place in football. If we can sort the defence out, why is your most experienced defender, Dawson sat on the bench?? that really is baffling. Unfortunately we now have 2 full weeks to brood on our latest defeat, which obviously isn’t ideal. Sabri is most definitely in last chance saloon, let’s see if he can survive.
Yep, next 3 games are
Blackburn
Rotherham
Derby
I think we should be looking at 5 points as an absolute minimum from those 3 games
I’d be OK with 6
Happy with 7
And if we get 9....then well....all is forgiven
Their first goal had an element of luck, second was awful defence were ball watching.
Our goal wasn't a team goal, more a piece of individual brilliance by one player, rather like a lot of Lolleys goals last season.
The club need to either get rid of Sabri now or give him two years to build his team and how he want's to play.
It's no good binning the guy at Christmas.
Second goal yesterday and goal at ‘Udders were both statuesque defending, 4 Forest players WATCHED Wells, a proven goal scorer, net from the 6 yard line, not a single one reacted, yes they don’t know each other’s play yet, but that is in excusable, particularly when you have an experienced leader and organiser in Dawson on the bench, who I don’t think has kicked a ball in anger this season. For me in a precarious position like Sabri’s Dawson would be one of my ‘go to’ men, I really find that strange and baffling. I do like Sabri, but to be honest am confused by his team selection most of the time. Even yesterday chasing the game he brought on Sow, who honesty looked awful, he has got our only creative youngster in Carvalho off the books. We lack creativity and I can’t see where it is going to come from, nothing through the middle, and little or nothing from the wings, again was Adomah binned off ?? It will be interesting to see how react if we actually get a lead to defend.

The worry I have with that Bear is that we could be looking at another 30 odd players coming in over that time and still be closer to achieving anything?
One of our biggest problem over the years is the total no consistency with the squad, perhaps why we were so effective last year was because we had a fairly settled team
It still feels as Sabri has too much to choose from and he still doesn’t know his best 11 - until we get that sorted, we’re gonna continues to see inconsistent performances and no real cohesion in the team
According to Tails the club are sounding out other managers, and Sabri acknowledged this in his post match interview with the Athletic; he's off to some Kuwaiti club he managed in the past.

You need to look on the Athletic website, Paul Taylor is the lead Forest writer since he binned working for the Post.
If we sack Lamouchi and replace him with another unknown foreigner, it will be a disaster on a huge scale
I would only agree with his dismissal if a proven manger who understands this division is brought in
I heard that rumour coming out of Greece last night but didn’t want to believe it. I also heard a name, again I am hoping is wrong, ‘our Nige’ is the name in the frame. Don’t shoot the messenger.
If that's right the board are again going for the cheap option.
He doesn't really have a successful record at this level.
This bunch are starting to look as incompetent as Fawaz, just better organised.

That’s not true at all Red
I, like almost every other supporter was shocked and disgusted at out capitulation last season...I never mentioned anything about wanting him sacked until a couple of games ago - of course there were those that thought he should have been axed argyle end of last season, but I was irritated to give him the benefit of the doubt
As this season has gone in, it’s become apparent, he’d really hasn’t changed much and that he’s making the same mistakes over and over again - I believe it was only a couple of games ago that I actually said something about getting rid of him
I’ve criticised him, as have you and many others - that comes part and parcel with the job
But unthinking only called for him to be binned, when it became apparent after the Cardiff and then Huddersfield and now Bristol City games, that he still doesn’t seem to have learned
So please don’t start making stuff up about me demanding him to be ‘binned unconditionally for about 3 months’ cos I don’t think that is true at all
Crap predictive text - so I’ll copy and redo the mistakes - so meant to say....
