I couldn't believe Trump could even win a primary let alone the nomination or even the election. So I wont be that surprised if he wins a second term.
Not much news on the football front Boston. Found that clip about Trump and thought it might brighten up my day and others.
Well personally I turn off when he's around. Unfortunately, you voted him in so you deserve all you get.
No offence meant.
( You probably didn't vote for him personally, but that's democracy.)
We Bostonians wouldn't vote for him
Anyway back to football.
Did we miss a trick by not looking at the home market in the transfer window. Villa picked up two very useful players who have made a immediate impact. Perhaps we could have done the same.
I believe I am right in saying that we have not used the internal market since we bought Traore.
I said at the beginning of the window that Ollie Watkins would make a good signings. Looks like the kind of option we could have done with, someone to run the channels and get in the box.
I suppose he was a bit of a risk at the price Villa paid, but he has hit the ground running.

I logged in to read about football, seems all I got was American politics FFS.

I remember a certain poster on ‘ere losing his sh*t and complaining if a thread went off-topic. If only I could remember his/her name...
It was me, me ol' Butey, 'twas me.
As we are in the International break, I thought I'd add some humour. Guess you're devoid of any.

No, I always realised it was a case of one rule for you and one rule for the rest. You brought my observation on yourself of course, by your previous complaints, and that irony might have passed you by. As for “devoid of humour”, you obviously don’t know what I do for a living...
And I’m quite happy to see, and enjoy, threads deviating and going in whatever direction they do. It’s the hypocrisy of those that complain about it, then partake, that I speak out against.
Blimey Bute how long have you been sitting on that one ?
Neves and Moutinho playing together tonight, semedo on the bench, as is Traore
He's like an elephant Goldi. Never forgets. I thought you dealt in travel to the Far East, seeing how you're over there a lot.
The stats suggest Spain are well in charge, not sure if that's an accurate reflection on the game
Bute is a cartoonist I believe. His arm aches from all the Trump doodling I suspect.
Moutinho off at half time

Pretty sure Turkey have played there before.....
Traore versus Semedo on that one side now.
Great bit of football there. Brilliant run by Traore, first time shot by Olmo, super save by Patricio
Patricio keeping Portugal in this game.
Wasn't Podence in the Portugal squad? Doesn't appear to be in the line up. Difficult to tell with these portugeezer names though.
Entertaining game for a 0-0. Joao Felix missing an open goal in the last minute, and Portugal twice hit the underside of the bar only for the ball to bounce out.
Danny Olmo man of the match to me. Wish we could have got him when he was at Zagreb. He wouldn’t come cheap now
Jimenez scored the goal to beat the dutch from the spot
Patricio tonight became the first keeper to get a clean sheet against Spain since 2016
And Jimenez was fouled by Man City’s Ake to earn the penalty he converted to secure the win for Mexico in Amsterdam
Traore made a massive impact in his 30 minute Spanish debut last night, showing that his unique skills do have a place at the highest level of football
Big question for him over the next year or two is whether that is his best position, as one of the most dynamic substitutes in world football. Or can he continue improving so that his club and country want to play from the start week in week out
Like many of our players at the moment, I wonder if Traore would benefit from just honing his ball skills. I feel in general the quality of our play has been sacrificed a little in favour of tactical coaching and team shape. There was a point last season when Traore wasnt giving the ball away, his control, passing and crossing were excellent. He was almost unplayable and un-droppable. Since the re-start that hasnt quite been the case, not just for him but for a few of our players. He's reverted to being an impact player that cant necessarily be trusted when we're trying to protect a narrow lead. I dont know to what degree professional clubs coach basic ball skills and sharpness to international players, I think it just improves incrementally with practice, but I think in Adama's case it would be time well spent.
