But they are right. You have spent a shed load of money on defence and still look pap. What's your answer? To spend more on it.
Comes with the territory. Suck it up.
You what?
Most of the programme was about the mess at United.
Utd were down to 10 and Liverpool have had the best defence for 2 years
City defence has been a joke for a while despite the hundreds of millions you have spent
City have managed to spend around 150m and have a worse squad than they finished with.
Imagine the howls if United had paid £50m for Stones.
Motd commentary was annoying. Especially the LFC game. The emphasis by commentators was the good thing LFC did during the match rather than the fact villa were playing out of their skin.
This is nothing new though. It's why we have a love in with kane rather than giving son his dues etc
*Kane deserves all the praise in the world so not knocking kane by any means

Stones is a bargain at £50m when compared to slow coach Maguire.
The thing was Maguire was one of our best players last season. Maybe the holiday he had has got inside his head and lost his concentration.

You mean the bias territory?
City conceded 5 of which 3 were dodgy penalties.
Now compare that to Liverpool who conceded 7 with 11 men and a £75m CB.
That’s odd I can’t remember any excuses being made for Liverpool or Utd. 🤔
The OP would have a very valid point if it wasn’t bollox. Maguire has got t very much in the neck.
He needs to be taken out of the team until his slab is sorted. It is as clear as day that this Greece fiasco is affecting his concentration.

Think Gnev said it best. When things are against you them those things become an issue moreso than when things are going well.
That said I do think too much is made of our defence when the issues imo are behind and in front of them.
We at least have a break now. Could see us come back looking like ourselves after last seasons break. We played the best football since SAF left after the break really.
Need Jones and Rojo back into the fold ASAP.

I like Stones just think he doesn't fit you guys.
I got slated for suggesting this but I wouldn't have minded a cheeky bid for him. In the region of 15-20m. Think if pep doesn't see him as a prospect you guys would have let him go cheap
Liverpool defending that bad is rare. Man U have been poor at the back for a while despite spending loads, so there’s bit of a difference. I expect if Liverpool go the season defending badly the conversion will switch

lol we allowed near the least chances against us since Solskjaer took the job. Spurs and Arsenal in same period near allowed the most.
Personally I don’t have an issue with them bringing up the £400m spent on our keystone cop defence
It’s very poor management/scouting/tactics to be at another window having spent so much money and to not have one premier league quality left back at the club
We don’t have the players currently to play the system Pep wants to play,it’s his job to find a solution and he’s been found wanting
It’s entirely fair for the media to question the money spent and what value that is displaying on the pitch
They wouldn’t be doing their jobs to overlook it
Liverpool actually expected goals against was higher last season than Man Utd. Man Utd was 38.06, Liverpool 39.57. Arsenal was 57.25 and Tottenham was 54.13.
Crazy that Watford got relegated with similar stats as Spurs and Arsenal last season. Just shows you how efficiency rules.

Stones is not as bad as he's been made out to be. He was a key part of our centurion season. The following season, he was injured away at Leicester despite starting the season brilliantly and then struggled to get back to form after that.

A key here is MF and why a hendo can be good in MF. Not only to hold the ball but also to tell players to calm down
Have a bad MF without that type of player and the defence is made to look ordinary with tactics Villa employed
Our MF does nothing and so the emphasis becomes the defenders who are constantly under pressure

There's been plenty of games from Feb onwards that Liverpool have conceded multiple times in a game through poor defending. It's not a one off, it just gets glossed over.
