Probably requested not to be in the squad, so that he could attempt to get fit for his testimonial

Lol
Anyone else think that Jones might have some sort of long term chronic illness like Fletcher had? He's been out for a while and Ole doesn't really give updates on him. Could the club just be supporting him and trying to keep thing on the DL because it's not a football related issue? He's just been out of the picture for a while.

no, back at the club, last i heard him and smalling were training separately.
also read a rumour, no idea if true, that he had told utd that he would be happy to have his contract terminated if we agreed to pay it off in full. cheeky sod.

i read that he needs an operation, which is one reason we couldn't even attempt to shift him this summer.

Part of me agrees; part of me sympathises with Rojo and wonders how else he's supposed to fund his poker games?
Feel sorry for Romero, never let us down, or complained, at least publicly

you'd like to think that we could reach a compromise where we pay, say, half his salary for him to f@ck off, he's then free to join another club on a lower salary, with plenty of cash for poker losses, hot wings and beer.
and to think that there was talk of him leaving permanently a few years ago, but clubs were unable to match our valuation of £25m.

......
No. Why on earth would any rational person leap to that conclusion.
We are all well aware of Jones fitness record.

I don’t. He will have earned more in a year that most people will in their life time. He is no different than all back up goalkeepers.
He was never going to be our # 1 but sadly for him Henderson probably is.
Surprised Romero is in instead of Grant no that either will play.
Possibly punishment for his wife’s comments?

He will be gone in the next couple of weeks I reckon. His time at United is coming to an end.
Jones is a crock. Even when fit, he is no longer usable.
Best for all parties to terminate his contract

Still can't believe we gave him a four year contract last year, with the option of another year. Still contracted until June 2023.

Isn't that to do with the need to have three keepers registered and for 'home grown' purposes it's advantageous to use up one of the home grown slots when you can. Or is that the PL?

I hope so. He deserves to get regular games elsewhere.
Apparently United want a fee for him, though.
Which is annoying his wife.
