I'm just hoping Laxalt isn't guilty of just not being Taylor

he did look decent at times, loves a tackle, seemed to be positive on the ball, his crossing was ok just nobody there on the end of it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's not in the door long enough to catch the malaise.

if we have everyone fit I'd play this

Barkas

Bitton
Duffy/Jullien
Ajer

Forrest/Elhamed/Frimpong
Brown
McGregor
Christie
Laxalt

Edouard
Ajeti
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’d be giving Edouard a good 3-4 weeks out. We have to get the other forwards playing regularly now.

I would've thought a lot of the tactical stuff is done by the coaches?

the inability to change things during the game or getting a reaction off the players after half time lie firmly as Lennons door mind you

i think we can agree that brown isnt the problem in that team but he is the one to get the blame when we arent creative.

thats not his duty, its ntcham and mcregor and they didn't create nearly enough

Its bad that i wish Griffiths started

He's one I really didn't want on, glad it came too late for him.

shows you where we are at the moment when we're brigning on Rogic and Griffiths to try and salvage something from an old firm game

2 of them were basically out the door about a month ago

ntchan wouldnt get near my team right now, offering nothing.

see this is lennon, he's the kind of manager that complains players arwnt match fit but only gives them 6 minutes as a sub.

I think that's unfair, we were without 7 players due to COVID injury.

Kennedy? He's seen off more managers than Abrahmovic - he's hoping.

Strachan? He holds the ppt folder.

One thing i've learned from the past 3 years in these games is not to get high with a win and too low with a loss.

I can't remember the last one that had a real bearing on where the title went

bitton or julien may have made a difference but i dont think anyone else would on current form

Not going to blame Barkas. That first goal the ball in was good and with that trajectory the keeper has no cluse how solid a contact the attacker is going to get so where it is going. Yes, it was within reach but going at pace. Slo-mo replays look awful but real time he had no reaction time.

BTW I an putting it down to intelligence by Goldson. Whether by luck or design he joined the attack late and our defenders were too slow in picking him up if indeed that was the order because it looked a zonal formation? I say looked like because like the rest of the pitch I have no clue and couldn't see any plan other than go and do your best, guys? Ely did no favours either.

Issue with Barkas is that he's had a few like that already. In fact there's hardly any goals that he has let in that couldn't have been saved.

The problem for him is that he's not Jonathan Gould.

Biton and El Hammed make a massive difference. Composure on the ball and positionally our best defenders.

Edouard makes a difference even with 1 leg

Barkas has become this years scapegoat.

He's been at fault for 2 goals in 14 games imo. He was very good in the qualifiers as well, handling is very good.

He's not as good a shot stopper as Forster that's for sure but people need to move on. He didn't want to come back, let it go as Olaf and his burd would say.

thats the first time I think since Lennons first season as manager Rangers have won the first old firm of the season

it gives them a massive psychological boost

this Sunday is massive for Celtic, if we fail to turn up and drop more points I think questions need to be asked

we can't afford to keep going on like this

posted on 19/10/20

Celtics absentees obviously had some sort of effect on saturday. But as folk have pointed out you still had more than enough highly priced, highly paid players available to make a game of it.

We started with Brandon Barker ffs

In all seriousness I think the Rangers squad looks way better than last season in terms of strength and depth. If Morelos was out we were relying on Defoe last season. Now we have Roofe and Itten which is a good pair of options.

Our midfield now looks very strong. Its nice to think the three that started on saturday had such a comfortable day and we still had Aribo, Jack and Hagi on the bench - with Zungu still to arrive.

Celtic will definitely have to do more this season to retain the title. The next few games are crucial as you cant really afford to start slipping behind us in the league.

Rangers collapse last season was a big help to Celtic although you get the credit for continuing to deliver the three points whilst we were making an erchie of it.

I would hope history wont repeat itself from last season. There certainly seems to be a bit of a different feel to it this year from a Rangers point of view. Its almost like the challenge is being embraced rather than creating a negative pressure on the players.

Time will tell.

Agree with everything there Ghod

People asking why we are playing a 3-5-2 ?

Well that's simple ...we don't have anyone who can play left mid and our left back is honking

So he's tried to cater for that by playing 3 centre Half's as when all fit they are decent enough

El Hamed being out had a big affect I think

Frimpong isn't strong enough to cope with the whole right channel

We missed players undoubtedly
But we need to find a way round rangers game plan
We don't seem to have a way to counter it

100% agree on Barkas being a scapegoat, as I said previously all goalkeepers make mistakes

Forster did when he first came, Gordon made a few as well

because people are gutted about Forster everything is being compared to him

Biton's calmness helps the others at the back, they can give him the ball in any area and he won't lose it.

He's a massive cog in the 3-5-2. Wouldn't work in 4-4-2.
