Criticise. Unless you are comparing a players speed. Its football not a fecking 100m race. Speed is a good attribute but better than speed is positioning. We all know Maguire bar his last game has been shocking. Still a decent defender who hopefully gets back to how he was playing at the start of the year where we had a very good defensive record.
If I wanted to criticise I would have called him a fridge, NOT compare situations.
He's a good defender not an amazing one and one not suited to a team which wants to press high up the pitch.

Ole played two pacey defenders either side of Lindelof today so in another game you could have Maguire where Lindelof was and the only difference may have been we cleared the header that Martial facked up on
No need to take a swipe at Maguire although it was a blessing in disguise that both Maguire & Bailly missed out not just for tonight but for Axel’s season.
Bailly out for 3-4 weeks. Time to get shot although can’t see many takers.

Entirely different type of player. As a central defender Maguire's responsibility lie in facing up to the opposition, not chasing them. For someone like Maguire, having to chase down a player would be registerd by himself as a failure to position himself properly
United, like most top teams, work best with at least one central defender generally being correctly positioned between the ball playing opponents and the net he is defending. And, for that reason, Maguire is several classes above ALL currently available united defenders. It's bordering on the contrarianism of an infantile mindset try to suggest otherwise.
United performed well tonight, but it was against a team that are very vulnerable to .... ahem .... being weak in the motivational department. However they performed, they would only have been stronger with Maguire on pitch
Maguire would’ve taken lindelofs place and lindelof if preferred to axel would’ve been in the foot race
Harry is a better CB so I see no reason why he can’t take lindelofs place with Axel and Shaw providing that pace
