pogba gets caught on the ball because his mindset is attacking and like I have been saying since even before we signed him he should not be playing in a deeper cm role.
Fred gets caught because his touches are poor and even the simple passes he makes puts the receiver on the back foot

and I agree that ability an tactical nous are completely different. Pogba has the technical ability to play as a cm but not the tactical nous

Every match he jogs slowly forward with the ball and someone nicks it off him because he doesn't release it quick enough.
He has players around him to pass to but doesn't.
He did it against psg with the very little time he was on the pitch in his 'attacking' role.

Blasting Pogba is old news. No one blinks at it. Fred satisfies one criteria that sells. He plays for united. Either way it is the same old lines, same old criticism. Putting Pogba wont feel out of place.

I wonder if people really do not see it or there is more to it.
put mata in the same role and the same thing would happen, put most "attacking minded" midfielders in a battlefied of cm and this would happen.
but it is much cooler to criticise pogba and not ask why we keep selecting him to play a role he is not suited for
