Oh yes playing for a pt against a disappointing chelsea side was worth rejoicing.

.....

Who is rejoicing? I am not. I am just being rational instead of stupid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Draw from the jaws of victory and you are happy? Standards VC, standards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a difference between being happy and being suicidal and calling for the managers head. Why does everything have to be so polarised on here?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's called accountability.

No one calling for his head though on the proviso things change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Better finishing or the keeper not being quite on form and we finish the week with 3 wins. What did you expect firm this week after the spurs result?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, the spurs defeat has left a complex, a nagging doubt on our manager?

The point I was making earlier hence the caution then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. We won away at Newcastle and PSG and had a tough home game against a side about our equal. Ole opted for a team that would give few chances away and hopefully do enough to win the game. And it worked to an extent. We just didn't take our chances/the keeper had a good game. But the week as a whole is a solid foundation to build upon after the Spurs. I'm pretty happy with how the week went.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I just don’t get these people who are all up in arms.
----------------------------------------------------------------------I can only agree, one quick look at the table and it's plainly obvious that everything points to quality management

We’ve played cautiously for the majority of Ole’s tenure, especially in bigger games. Dunno why you were surprised we did this against Chelsea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Difference here being Chelsea came for nothing else than a point. Not sure many "top" sides come to OT just for that.

posted on 26/10/20

But Ole’s approach to these games is naturally cautious, so it’s hardly a surprise we were in that game despite Chelsea doing the same. I don’t agree with it, which is why I’d like us to replace him with a more adventurous coach, but it’s not surprising based on his history with us.

And VC word of caution, I am all for good natured debate with anyone but you seem to be the only one here throwing puerile names. You have done this for too long and yet you still remain on JA606. Live a charmed life or you have Admin's number!

Telles - Too early to judge
Maguire - a good CB
AWB - good defensively. less so going forward.
VDB - A ticking timebomb
Fernandes - Quality
Ighalo - Poor business
Cavani - too early to judge

That's approx £300m including Cavanis wages and the 2 young lads.

And we still have Rojo, Jones, Lingard and a vexed Romero on the books.

He has done OK so far but lets not go overboard with praise for the 'overhaul'

Donny,

I am disappointed nevertheless.

People forget that if Rashford took his chance, United go into the second half with an advantage which would of caused Chelsea to open up and concede a second. Ole is clearly a brilliant manager he just needs time like Arteta.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arteta won 2 trophies so far with limited budget and less time than Ole or Lampard which clearly says about managers quality. Both Ole/Lampard are mediocre managers which are lucky enough they played for clubs and have legend status otherwise they would be already out of door. Cruel but truth👌
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't arteta an Arsenal legend for that game against someone nobody cares about?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

But you just stated "what did you expect this week after the spurs result". Inference here being a scar left by the mauling

And no doubt there may be some truth especially at home. No win in 5 says OT is a big issue for us. Add the mauling then I understand the caution

I am no less disappointed though because the PSG and Newcastle displays showed under the right system and instructions we could be devastating. That is why I am left disappointed with a draw that on evidence on the day and two past displays we should have won. It's on Ole for the cautious display.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was asking what your expectations for the week were following the spurs result. Id have certainly taken 2 wins and a draw.

DDG - SAF

Shaw - Moyes

Fred - Jose

Bruno - Ole

Martial - LVG

Our best players have been purchased by 5 different managers, its hardly a succesful overhaul is it?

I think you are too long in the tooth for that but this place should not tolerate the way you abuse people. And that is what I call it "abuse".

You are intent on driving posters away and I don't think that is what Admin wants for his site.

Every debate descends into name calling where you are involved. Feels like a school playground than a forum to debate all aspects of Utd inmho.
