It was one of those games where the opposition want it so much more than us that you can't begrudge them it. Such a shame with Dele its easy to forget how good/important he was for us not that long ago. The day we broke our Bridge hoodoo he was brilliant.

As I said last night it was as if we found it too much of an effort to match their commitment. I would say that it should be a kick up the rse but surely the West Ham game provided that?

Its very early days but already its a case of which Spurs is gonna turn up, when we are good we are electric but when we are bad we are shocking?

From Man Utd to THAT, in what two weeks?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The United game was an anomaly. They crumbled the moment they went down to 10 men.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were 2-1 up and fully in charge of the game when the red card happened

it's a poor craftsman that blames his tools. something i've never liked about jose. never his fault in his mind.

such a sore loser who loses the plot when getting outplayed at times. The thing is he does say he blames himself but you know that is only for his team selection which isn't the bigger picture. The individual players are not bad, they have shown quality before and belong at big clubs, he can't get them playing like that.

Very concerned if he's now not going to use the squad players in Europa. When will the likes of Dele/Bergwijn etc ever get minutes?

Jose facked up last night. Tactically clueless and ridiculous substitutions. He needs to start coaching a system where squad players can come in and be effective.

We're basically a Son or Kane injury away from disaster. Rely so much on their individual brilliance.

I'm guessing when Jose said 'that's why I don't play them he was referring to Dele and Bergwijn, as they are both players questioned by media to Jose in press conferences. Both are obviously good players but are not apply themselves at all, do wonder that they do not look like they know what they're roles are when playing. Dele is better further forward, poor deep. Bergwijn never runs at the defence.

The most important thing is that we qualify out of the group and we are still on course to do that. A good performance and win against Brighton will go some way to making us forget about this.

What performances/results like this do do however is show this squad isn't as good as we think, or at least as good as I thought.

Always a worry when Mourinho publicly has a go at his players though, knowing how falling out with his dressing room has been a problem for him at previous clubs.

Bale looks unfit, Dele imo is finished as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bale's looked unfit for the better part of 2 seasons. The UK media served his interests well by making Zidane the villain in the Bale affair and selling the idea that Bale was being ostracized as part of some vendetta, rather than him simply not cutting the mustard.

Whether Bale can make it back to full fitness and form remains to be seen, but what we learnt at Madrid is that after each injury he needs a load of playing time to regain his form. When injuries are so recurrent, you end up jeopardising your chances of remaining competitive more often than what it's worth.

Jose did say something similar regarding Rashford and Martial when the press were putting pressure to play them.

It will be interesting to see how much game time Winks gets going forward, we need better than a water carrier in midfield, players who can win the ball, snuff out the opposition or pass the ball forward quickly. Winks just seems to pass the ball 10 yards sideways or backwards and that`s it. Of course, he may be just doing what Mourinho tells him, so it would be harsh to criticize too much.

the attitudes of the fringe players seems to be the issue not the quality.

Jose screwed up,he totally disrespected the opposition by putting a team out with 9 changes from the last game, even I know you can't do that, rest 2 or 3 then make changers to rest more if you get ahead enough.
he facked up and he's blaming the unfit/under used/recovering for his gaff...the guy has no class.
