I watched the BBC documentary, The Trump Show, which goes back over the presidency and reminds you of the all the bat sh!t crazy stuff you'd forgotten he'd said and done because your head was still trying to process the last bat sh!t crazy thing he'd said or done.

How 60+ million Americans could have even considered voting for him is baffling but that's the world we're now in. Maybe the alternative isnt that inspiring but at least he displays some human qualities.

We live in an era when a fatuous soundbite shared on social media is often more valuable than a balanced and researched opinion. It’s no surprise that Trump thrives in this environment, but we are seeing it more and more in this country too.

Experts in propaganda have often said that your message is much more effective if it appeals to the stupid masses than if it is understood by academics. The problem isn’t that Trump is a moron with the social skills of a recalcitrant five year old - it’s that his supporters do not care.

Agree the alternative isn’t inspiring but it’s a much safer pair of hands and at least America should rebuild relationships with its traditional allies in Europe and be a positive voice in NATO, WHO and the Paris Accord.

At the end of the day this election has only been about one question really, do you want another 4 years of Trump or not. Amazing how many have said yes, but hopefully not quite enough

Neto called up to the senior portugese squad for the first time for next week’s internationals. Surprisingly Podence is not in the squad

I watched that too. It was quite incredible how many things I had forgotten over this four years. We have become numb to it now.

Leicester have battered Braga without Vardy, must be pretty strong favourites to go deep in the EL this time. Could depend on how much the CL dropouts want it, Sevilla look good to stay in the CL this time though.

Ove never taken too much notice before of the US elections but the bbc website also has breakdowns of election results down to individual county level and you can see even in Republican states the larger cities and university towns vote Democrat. Is it too simple to say that uneducated backwater America votes Republican Trump or no Trump?

basically the same in every country - the more remote and rural the more backward.
there is noticeably much more openly racist, nationalist and anti immigrant / foreigners attitudes in herefordshire than in the west midlands where i came from.

Biden has now taken the lead in Georia and will probably do the same in Pennsilvania later today. Looks like Biden could get around the same amount of votes the cretin did 4 years ago.

Good overall. Biden will be far from perfect but Trump is just a disgrace of a human being in every way.

Good for the rest of the world. Bad for Brexit.

Although I seriously doubt Trump would have given a favourable grade deal and it would be stupid geographically to have the US as our main trading partners.

No idea why anyone would get the impression uk would get a good trade deal with Trump. The only kind of deal Trump considers good is one that improves America’s balance of payments

Under Biden I think we will see a much fairer deal and he will also get America into a positive engagement with NATO, WHO and the Paris Climate agreement

Trump is for Trump. Period. He doesn't really even care for his own supporters. I'm sure thousands and thousands have contracted the virus whilst attending his rallies and maybe hundreds have died.

For once I agree with DJ. Biden is not perfect, but he will try and re-united this country and hopefully get the respect from the rest of the world.

The world will be a much better place when this clown leaves office and hopefully his antics and his corruption will catch up with him, once he's a private citizen again.

Biden has already said he would prioritise a trade deal with the EU over the UK after it leaves. That is why I said it was bad for Brexit (which I think is stupid anyway).

The fact he is more likely to engage with the UN, Paris agreement and NATO is why I said it was good for the world. Pretty simple really.

U23s lost 2-1, Taylor Perry getting a penalty for us late on. He seems to score most games recently

Well of course he would. The EU is collectively the world’s 2nd biggest economy. Why would he prioritise a deal with a much smaller trading partner?

Trump’s overtures to the U.K. were motivated by his America first policy. China and the EU are the closest competitors to the US in terms of size. In short he saw the EU as a threat and was happy to try and undermine them. He doesn’t see us as a threat as we simply aren’t big enough.
