it's basically points for winning a state, and the bigger states carry more points and 270 is the winning mark

It is basically going to be the same as last time 306-232 and possibly an extra state flipped for Trump 320-218 or so

Thoughts as to why? I'm genuinely at a loss to explain what's happening.

Honestly I am trying to process it all right now. I think ultimately it's a brilliant campaign strategy from the Trump camp, they have turned it into an us and them battle like a footy match and preyed on the dumb and the stupid and it works to a tee.

When you start to analyze who is voting what you notice quite starkly that the educated who live in the cities and suburbs all vote for the common sense and logic of anything but Trump but the country folk who are mostly uneducated (sweeping statement granted) still have the mindset of a 1960s America, hence the built in racism, a belief in god to the extreme and no trust of a real politician.

The strategy will be studied for years to come. Has to be admired for what it is really. In the meantime the country will become more divided and tensions will grow higher and higher and the country will possibly end up ostricised to large parts of the world.

Inadvertently you have covered why Trump does better than expected. It's not for the reasons you have stated, but for the way you project them. We saw it with Brexit and Corbyn. Keep calling people stupid, racist, etc. doesn't end well, as we saw with Trump's first win, Brexit winning and the Tories winning.

Still, long way to go, Trump is far from a cert to win. 👍
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They are stupid. They are voting for someone based on ridiculous reasons and not policies. Just like the brexit people. It's like a peasant revolt really. Sadly they are the ones that end up suffering the most.

I'm Going to bed. It's over. Honestly guys, give it up.

Idiots don't like being called stupid. Racists don't like being called racist. And if you do, they'll vote for a racist idiot to prove you wrong. Makes sense.

Fox has called Arizona for Biden. Its going to come down to Westoning, Michigan and Penn

To be fair I saw it happen with working class Tory voting Brexit advocates while I was in the UK. A sickening lack of awareness as to the realities of what they were voting for and what it actually meant for them. I'm just glad I chose Canada and not the States to escape to.

The democrats are a useless alternative though, you have two sh*t choices. you can call other people stupid but you have to ask how crap and stupid are the democrats to lose twice to Trump?

While I take your point Trump is patently stupid, and racist. It really should be a no brainer to vote against having an inherently bad person and a proven liar as head of state.

I'm a firm believer that a nation gets the government it deserves. The leader they vote in is a reflection of the people. It's not looking good.

This is true to an extent, in four years the DNC could have potentially put up two absolutely useless candidates against Donald fecking Trump.

You may not like the reasoning but calling someone stupid hardens their position

Rather than calling someone names you should be engaging with them and talk about why they felt they needed to vote the way they did. Try and see it from their view and then try and put your point across in a non condescending manner and definitely not being patronising

Fully onboard. Except this is Donald Trump we're talking about. If you can't see he's a bad person in going to question your intelligence.

I was mocking you, you moron.

See? You can't debate with stupid. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Every time.
