So Kane is above criticism because other players also cheat.

Okay then.

Kane is one the worst cheats there is, along with mane.

One of my best memories of this site. Spurs fans slated Liverpool players for diving. Tottenham Hotspur next game Kane gets a yellow for erm...”simulation”
You can’t make this stuff up!

Kane dived in that game, but not for the penalty.
What he did for the penalty is something he does quite often. He waits for the opponent to jump, then moves into the opponent, bends over and makes it look like he was fouled. In reality he is the one commiting the foul, has no intention of playing the ball and is not holding his ground. He always gets the decision, so fair play.
Refs are a bit oblivious to it, but it is beginning to get attention on social media and now the actual media, so they may cotton on soon.

Kane fouled a player and got a penalty, even worse than the dives/play-acting from other players.

Players like Kane and Suarez are great at backing into players and getting a foul for it.

Yeah it's been a good spot. I hadn't noticed it until last game and first couple of times I saw the pen I didn't think much of it, but definitely a deliberate tactic.

Hopefully the refs start noticing it now.

He did it in the world cup with great success.

Happens all the time in the penalty area, doesn’t excuse him for doing it, but it’s nothing new.

This tactic was called 'making a back' and has been going on for years, it is a foul, refs need to start clamping down on it again, irrespective of who is doing it.

Dives from Son and Kane (not even the pen incident):

Is there really any defending this?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not entirely accurate, as making a back can be just standing there and waiting for the defender to come over you.

Kane stepped into the defender's path deliberately and with no intention of playing the ball.

Then bent over, hence making a back.

The defender should have got the foul.

Kanes a big cheat so Maureen just looks stupid defending him

Keeping it in the media is only a good thing as refs will hopefully stop giving him benefit of doubt

Less pens for Spurs i feel. Great own goal from the special once

To be fair those ones at the World Cup looked genuine pens and were for shirt pulling/holding from set pieces.

This new tactic Kane has come up with seems to only be a recent thing. Seems like people have exposed it now though.

Refs need to start penalising him for it before an opposition player gets a serious injury, it's extremely dangerous.

I've seen a lot of people in the past talk about how much better the refereeing system is in rugby and how football can learn a lot from it and would tend to agree

In rugby, tackling a player who is jumping for the ball in the air is pretty much always a yellow card and often a red card because of the danger it puts opposition players in, almost always it's unintentional

Kane is essentially doing the same thing but with deliberate intent which you have to say is considerably worse.

blatant no contact diving that is.

Do people actually think Kane is the first person to do this?

I'm not excusing him at all, but if you want consistency, you should be asking for it to be called up with everyone, not just Kane.

Kane pushes himself into opponents. Falls over and always gets the foul. The man is a master of his craft.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sigh.

People are talking about it because it happened most recently, just as people were talking about the Salah penalty.

That doesn't mean anyone thinks it is new nor does it mean people don't criticise others for it.

Why the 'sigh'?

It's obvious people are talking about it now because it is Kane, and he gets away with things.

But if they really cared about it not happening again, they should bring it up every time it happens, not just with Kane, which no one does.

Bennyville (U8058)

Because it feels like the stock reaction from most fans on here when one of their players is at the centre of a discussion like this.

We shouldn't have to caveat every criticism with 'other people do it'.

'They' do bring it up when it happens with others. Vardy being another who uses this tactic.

posted on 5/11/20

Do they bring it up?

Please bring that to my attention as that has slipped me by.

Not caveating, but I do wonder if this was another player would there be such a reaction like there is now. If people really cared about it, it wouldn't just be now.

Nah mate what he did in the world cup was pull the shirt of the defender and when the defender tries to remove his hand he just fell and won the pen.

Sterling did the same to Gomez last season. He was pulling Gomez shirt and then as soon as Gomez tried to remove his hand he exaggerated the fall and won the pen.

The English boys know how to cheat well
