A bit like you Rev I am completely baffled by our situation. With the quality of players we have, Colback, Arter, Freedman, Taylor and Knockaert there is no way we should be struggling like we are. We can’t put two decent halves of football together never mind back to back wins, so tomorrow will yet again be a lottery. First half against Coventry wasn’t bad, the second half was atrocious, yes we ended ‘stealing’ the match, but apart from the result there was little to celebrate. Wycombe are a bit of an unknown quantity/quality at this level but showed in mid week they don’t give up. It’s another hope for the best but prepare for the worst scenario. Figs definitely needs taking out of the firing line, but an experienced Soh against the likes of Akinfenwa, assuming he is fit, would concern me, Dawson has the experience and for me, if fit, should start. Hopefully Hughton will be able to pick his favoured eleven soon and maybe then we will see where we stand. Fingers crossed I am going for a win for the Reds by the odd goal, could be similar to our game against Burton a couple of seasons back and end up 4-3.
Thanks for posting REV.
Unlike you, REV I would have settled for 4 from 2. But I thought Coventry would be the tricky one; which it turned out to be. So again I'm saying I will settle for 4 from 2 (today and Barnsley after the break.)
I think Hughton does know his best starting eleven, but he can't play it every game due to injuries and the need to rotate. Not seen much of Mbe Soh but I do like the look of him. If the manager wants to leave out Figs for this one I'd have no problem with Dawson playing.
On Wednesday our game went to pieces with the decline of Sow due to picking up a yellow and tiredness. I can't see him starting today. If he does he will only play an hour max. I think I would swap both DMs and partner Arter with Yates for extra energy and mobility in there.
We have to match their workrate today and earn the right to play our football. We have shown in flashes we have the quality; today's the day to stay on our feet and do it for 90 minutes.
Forest 2 Wycombe 0
I don’t understand this thing about tiredness - these are professional athletes, and should not struggle to put in a full 90 minute shift
Remember the a squad of 1994/95 - we were one of the first teams in the Country to had a fitness coach - Richard Money I think his name was - we had perhaps the fittest squads in the Country - and needless to say, finished 3rd in the Premier League
I wish we had that emphasis on this team, as they don’t seem fit enough at times for me
I agree that in some games we don't seem to be as fit as the opposition which is annoying.
We have gone beyond fitness coaches, we have sports scientists these days who are constantly monitoring players fitness levels. Even during matches. We've all seen the fitness monitors players wear beneath their shirts these days. Even youngsters these day walk around with fitness trackers which monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and stuff.
The sport scientists will be feeding info to coaches during games on who is performing to their 'maximum' and this will be considered for team selection and substitutions.
Red- do you have one of those devices attached to yourself
You just call it a pacemaker
Mornin' Rev
I'm with Redave on this - with us - not you. The quality and sum of our players does not come anywhere near the whole or potential of what they are capable....
.......or summat like that....
Ha ha ha!
This is just the sort of game that Forest will lose unfortunately; that is just the Forest way and goes back to Billy's table topping teams.
In case you didn't know, according to Danial Taylor writing for the Athletic; Marinakis had a zoom meeting with the whole squad after the loss against Barnsley in the opening Cup Game. He gave em' all a 'rousting' in front of Sabri, thus undermining the manager.
That may well explain the poor start, but not we we always struggle against poor teams; possibly average players thinking they're better than they are?
Change of topic, Reading are on course to losing 3 on the bounce and are dropping like a rock. What a crazy unpredictable league this is.
Not ready for a pacemaker yet REV, but could do wit a couple of new knees.
I read about EM's zoom call to the squad. He did the same with the Olympiakos squad at the same time except he told them not to report for a week and played the youth team in the following match.
A win today, could put us 10 points off the top - crazy League
Forest: Samba; Christie, Figueiredo, McKenna, Ribeiro; Ameobi, Sow, Colback (c), Knockaert; Guerrero, Taylor; Subs: Smith, Mbe Soh, Freeman, Jenkinson, Yates, Lolley, Arter

4-4-2. Not sure what to make of this line up. It may work it may not. The main positive is there is plenty of room for change from the bench.
I’m pleased Ribiero is getting is getting a game. He can beat a man, he gets into dangerous areas and he’s not actually too bad in the tackle for his diminutive build.
Hughton trying 4-4-2 again. Hope it works, if it does I can see us scoring a few.
Pleased with the team, but it looks like CH prefers Colback to Arter which surprises me. Maybe Arer is still feeling his injury.
Reading 0 - 3 Stoke
Wow <yikes
Really not sure about 442 if that’s what it is. Maybe Guererro will play behind Taylor. Perhaps Lolley and Freeman need a break.

Although I am an optimist I'm still looking how far we are from the bottom rather than how close we are to the top.

Yeah, on fire since they thrashed us. We seem to be a catalyst for getting struggling sides back into form and strikers ending their barren run’s.
Fecking iFollow have done it again. Flogged the video off to DAZN and it is not on DAZN Spain.
I'm fecking livid.
