De Brune just missed an identically given penalty against Liverpool
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wish he had taken your fecker instead of Vardy
I see a non-league team called Chorley has knocked a league team out of the cup.
Good result that coming back from 2 down, local derby too.
Disappointing result. Disappointing performance?

Well Leicester are very tough opponents and we limited them to just a few chances in open play. The penalties were first incredibly harsh and second a rash challenge from a guy making his second appearance.
We were possibly the better side in the second half but only got two shots on target. Leicester only had one bar the two pens. Some pretty average individual performances, had everyone been on their game we could have taken a point at least but Jimenez, Podence Ait Nouri and to a lesser degree Coady weren't on it today.

Standard boring first half performance where we dont really turn up. Although better in the second half, we didnt do enough to get back in the game.
More tough games coming up right through in to January, we're going to have to let the handbrake off at some point or we're not going to pick up many points over that period.
Ta fellas. Seen the extended highlights which seemed to be few and far between at either end. Shame last week appears to be the anomaly rather than the standard. And as Goldi says, if we don't release the handbrake we are not going to really get anywhere now, especially given we have a few more close rivals this term of seems.
Eight goals from eight matches so far. Isn't good enough is it given the quality we have.
Thought it was a game where a draw would have been a fair result. Apart from the penalties Leicester didn’t seriously threaten to score. Very unlucky with the first pen, not sure what Kilman could have done to avoid it other than play with no arms. The second one was a clear mistake by Ait Nouri. We just didn’t do enough in the attacking third.
Defensively we were fine and Boly on particular played well. Ait Nouri had a poor game though in defence and going forward and I suspect Marcal will fill that spot next game. I thought Neves and Dendoncker did fine but it was a clear Leicester tactic to keep Semedo occupied defensively so he rarely got forward
Neto was the best of the front three but none of them did enough on the day. No link up between them as they were playing well apart. And there just isn’t enough goal threat from that frontline.
Don’t think it’s necessarily about taking the handbrake off or playing less cautiously. It’s just that we only have one player who looks capable of scoring more than a few over the season, and he is suffering from not having anyone playing close to him
Palace got things wrong defensively and with the freedom of the wings we looked fine but against a better organised team like Leicester it was difficult to see where the goals were going to come from
After 30 minutes, Sky showed the action zones and only 4% of the game had been played in the Leicester half. If that isnt playing with a handbrake on, I don't know what is.
In the second half we spent much more time in the Leicester half. But I’m not sure we looked much more like we were going to score
Over the 90 minutes possession was about 50:50, they had 10 shots to our 8, passing accuracy of the teams was similar, they had a few more passes in the attacking half but not much, we got in more crosses and dribbles, they made more defensive clearances. The stats could hardly have been more equal. We certainly weren’t outplayed and we didn’t spend more time defending than they did
We were a goal down after just 15 minutes so the stats being equal is pretty much irrelevant at this point. We were playing catch up and trying to get back into the game, and still didn’t commit anywhere near enough players forward.
We’ve seen this before from Nuno following the heavy defeat to Chelsea at Molineux, I fear the West Ham defeat a few weeks ago is very much in his thoughts still.
The only credible goal threat we have is Jiminez and he is coming too deep and wide looking for the ball because he’s getting no service or support.
The way we are currently playing, combined with the ongoing VAR fiasco and empty stadiums with no atmosphere, is making our games a really hard watch.
All my non-Wolves supporting friends think we are boring and don't watch us when we are on TV. We are becoming that team unfortunately.

We can't fail to turn up for the first half of a game and expect to get anything from it. We were terrible and had no intent whatsoever in the first half.
Second half we had more of the ball because Leicester sat off us more, but even then we were too static to take advantage. Leicester were not very good either, but never had to get out of second gear.
We didn't really deserve anything from the game today in my opinion.

As I said earlier in the thread, the tactic seems to be to send everyone including the opposition defense to sleep .
Ait Nouri has dropped out of the French U21 squad with an abductor injury

I think the mistake the refs made in both cases was viewing the incidents in slow motion. When slowed down it's always going to look as if the defender has his arm up to stop the ball but viewed in real time it's obvious that the arm position is natural for someone running.
It's water under the bridge now anyway, we move on...
I think the problem has its origins in VAR. To suit that they want to make all incidents black and white, so if it hits the hand it’s a pen regardless of whether it’s accidental. So all var does is prove it hits the hand and takes no regard of intent
Same with offside. They draw a line on the screen as if that makes it possible to prove someone is one inch offside. But the technology doesn’t exist to prove that line is drawn at the exact moment the ball is played. So the line is meaningless
Bottom line, has VAR been good for the game? I think not
