We have lost a lot of games under Arteta where we have shown zero fight in most of them which is the worry. Combine that with the dreadful football (worse than Emery)
I really hope he can turn it around but there is no real evidence to suggest he can change things
PS: Remeber Ozil is for "footballing reasons"
Pepe has had far too much playing time. Play well then moan.
"Play one game, bench next game and repeat process."
Yeh, imagine playing shiete in one game and then getting benched the other. How dare Arteta
Players seemingly tried sending him a message with their performance against villa I think.
Knowing Mikel though, he'll just drop half of them

Not really easy playing decent football with how this clown sets out to play though is it? I'd give Pepe a string of games and build his confidence. But we got bigger problems with how we're barely creating any chances.
The biggest issue Arteta has is trying to find a balanced team with the squad of players he has. Now, I've never been a fan of his, but he's shot himself in the foot in his approach to certain players. He's dug himself into this issue and now it's on him to deal with it.
We have, by far and away, the worst attacking line up in the top 8. He keeps on playing Lacazette and Willian, both of whom have the mobility of a london bus. Without attacking midfielder linking up play and feeding in the key passes, we look completely ineffective.
Having said that, he's a young manager who has made us reasonably solid at the back. But, imo, his partnership with Edu is far to inexperienced. Arteta is having to protect the club from off-field antics when it should be Edu sorting this.
It's getting to the stage when he needs to start playing willock and Nelson. They cant be any worse than the experienced flops
Also would've loved to have seen Saliba playing.
Arsenal right now actually remind me a lot of United last season until Bruno signed.
OP and a lot of fans being harsh on Arteta imo. He's not even been in the job for a year yet, he inherited a chit club, has low funds and is very new to the management job. Granted he can should have handled the ozil and saliba situation better, I think we need to give him time to embed whatever vision he has.
I don't think that's necessarily true. Investment in players stagnated when starting to build the stadium. Wenger actually did very well to keep you competitive for so long and playing beautiful football. But you were never able to replace the marquee players like Henry and Van Persie - or even players like Fabregas.
You thought that just by replacing Wenger, you'd get back to the top. It doesn't work like that. Emery had a completely different style - or lack of it. Bought a couple of decent players but it didn't work out. Arteta has come in, bought a few more players, got rid of some others but he is finding it difficult to get consistency.
My point being, in about a year and a half, you've changed manager twice, changed at least half the team, and all this with the pandemic making things almost impossible. Will another change of manager really be the answer?

I agree. But the guy is just way too defensive. Don't know why he refuses to play 4-3-3 or a more positive formation. Have no sympathy for him.

Overachieved may be a bit strong but to have such consistency over such a long period, especially when he was for much of that time out of his depth financially, was a great achievement. He took Arsenal from boring long-ball merchants (I remember the Arsenal offside line was subject of much comedy before Wenger) and turned them into entertainers, second only to Barcelona for style. But it's difficult when Chelsea, City, United are spending lots of money and you are not.
A while back he was the messiah. Fickle.
Think it’s still bit to early to say he’s not the man for the job. A low like this was Almost inevitably going to come in his tenure, and the same happens to good managers as well. I’m willing to see how he responds to this before deciding if he’s capable of turning us around or not.
There’s still holes in this squad we need to fill before we can expect top performances most weeks especially in attack. But Arteta needs to show soon he can put us on that path, with bit of a tweak to a system or personal changes, because what’s he’s doing now isn’t working. We can’t expect that just having good defensive organisation is enough to win enough points to pull us up the league. The next run of fixtures will be pivotal for him
Drop Willian , Lacazette and Nketiah.
Start Pepe , bring in Willock. Give Balogun a chance.
Also give Saliba a chance instead of Rob Holding
This is a mad season. Still only 3 or 4 points off challening for Top 4.
It wont surprise me if Villa are absolutely crap next game they play
It's too early to write him off, but he needs to start making changes and stop making such a strange decisions, picking players and formations that only make sense to him. What I don't like is his defensive style, I don't want manager at Arsenal who plays defensive football and if he doesn't change that in some time then we should look for new manager.
