I'm gonna say this once and hopefully only once... RDD was right when he said we needed a striker. Martial did very well last season, but seeing a true top class striker back in the role reminds you just what a skilled player brings to the table.

Scholes saying he isn't getting carried away by the performance

If only we got a point away at Istanbul, the group would look pretty much sealed.

They play Leipzig in the early KO next week. If they beat the Germans then it would take two extraordinary results for us to miss out.

Was he really? He ran a lot for sure but did he actually do anything of substance...

Liked the work rate but if his teammates aren't pressing with him it's just a waste of energy... Needed the workout I suppose...

Even if they get a point and we do we’d basically top the group. Unless RB beat us 6-0 in the last game.

As it happens not with the result in Paris tonight so not much harm done really. The Tuanzebe yellow was more damaging tonight really.

Well potentially more damaging that should say.

Not exactly a complete performance but a good game nonetheless.

I much prefer us being able to take our foot off the gas while holding a good lead than starting games slowly and having to grind our way to a win or risk drawing or losing.

Need to start performing like we did tonight from the off and in the first half more often.

Yes, his hold up play, touches around the box and in midfield, constant runs and tenacious tracking back didn't allow them a minutes rest and created uncertainty through their back line.

I thought he was fantastic.

Positionally AWB is nowhere near as good as Shaw. I wouldnt trust him as a 3rd CB

Ji people just don't see what a guy like him does for his team mates and dynamic of play. Occupying defenders etc

Cavani was great, should be our number 9 currently

I always felt the same despite Martial's form last season.

Not getting Haaland was a real blow although I understand why it didn't happen.

We should be looking to make another attempt to sign him when his release clause becomes active.
