I have been trying to get Strachan to be our manager for years. He is our director of football but isn't keen on management anymore. Not sure he would take the step down to manage Celtic either.

Heartbroken Sir Rod Stewart believes no manager worth his salt will go near the Celtic manager’s job “with a bargepole” if Neil Lennon is axed.

He's got to go.
He's got to GTF

He wasn't even allowed his own backroom team. Imagine that was said to Rodgers!

What about John Kennedy until the end of the season..... ?

I can’t think of any player who hasn’t regressed this season.

Can't believe the change in Frimpong. He was like a breath of fresh air and full of enthusiasm when he came into the team last season and now looks scared to try and take a player on and passes back all the time. Looks totally miserable now too. We certainly seem to be able to coach any creativity out a player.

What's the checklist?

Cellic minded? Tick (or is that tic)

Played fur the club and knows what it's all about? Tick

Currently part of a management team playing at a very high level? Tick

Former player and players player of the year? Tick

Won league titles and cups with a European final to his name? Tick

Played at the highest level in the English Premier league? Tick

Ladies and gentleman I give you the next Celtic manager

Shaun Maloney

You can thank me later

Actually wouldn't be totally averse to that TBH, compared to many of the names being bandied about or on bookies shortlists. Always thought he comes across really well. Would obviously be a gamble, but he isn't assistant to Martinez, at one of the best International sides on the planet, for no good reason. Would need an experienced assistant though.

why are people mentioning Maloney btw?

on what basis??

posted on 30/11/20

WGS Maloney Damien Duff.. Clutching.

Maloney has obviously done good things to be involved (took over from T. Henry) at Belgium.

This.

Lenny is an "old school" manager, end of. Can work for shortish spells, but ultimately his lack of coaching and tactical nous is going to be shown up. Didn't want him back, but was grateful for the job he did as caretaker boss when BR legged it, and praised him for the way he got us playing for a couple of months after Xmas last season. This car crash was always coming though, even if I didn't think it would be quite this spectacular.

posted on 30/11/20

The cart coming before the horse here anyway.

Lennon remains in post, he's taking training too. Would he be doing that if he was imminently about to be sacked?

The manner of the protest has saved him

Your performances were getting worse and worse under Rodgers too. Lennon obviously stopped the rot when he came in and surprising it’s gone downhill so quickly given the transfers

i put a lot of it down to empty stadiums.

Rangers players have yet to taste success, they have came close with the league cup last year and yet still lost, their motivation is from their failures.

our players don't have that, they have known nothing but success and therefore have no drive without the fans there

we had a poor result and performance at home to Valencia but we'd won every single game after the winter break under Rodgers
