Yeah brilliant effort from us today. All set up perfectly for us now to collapse in the morning in usual fashion to 200 all out.

One of the most dominant first days we have had in a while. Just have to bat the day tomorrow and assess our position from there. Bairstow and especially Root looked seriously untroubled for most of their partnership and kept the scoreboard ticking along nicely.

With just Lawrence and Buttler to come before the bowlers, there's still plenty of work to be done to build a big lead. Hopefully Root can knuckle down and go big.

Root needs to ton up. No excuses. I'm fairly sure I'm right in saying he's terrible following on overnight, though.

Bairstow has undoubtedly done well but again, he needs to push on.

Promising position obviously. Really shouldn't be losing the test match from this position. Annoyingly my folks have cancelled their Sky Sports subscription so I can no longer pox it off them
