I was wrong about possession though. Means little when you lose like that but we ended up with 54%.

Still not one team has had more than us.

We did our best but Chelsea were too strong. Maybe a VAR penalty would have changed that game but not to be.

Chelsea are one of the best teams in the league. Early injury not helped us at all. VAR not given us a penalty when it should have done. Want to eradicate diving from football? Don't make it so players have to flop to get a decision.

Quality side, stopped us playing our game and their finishing was quality, that's what you get when you spend over £800mil

We weren't even allowed to pipe crowd noise in when covid was running riot in the south. Now suddenly fine for fans in the south to heckle our players? That safer? Fairer?

Not having it. Clearly made a difference.

Think our starting eleven probably cost less than Havertz.

Sky commentary awful.

Scoreline fair - no ifs or buts.

We are about 2 or 3 pacey quality players short and we have to sort out the ongoing left hand side issue.

Having said that they are the best side we've played this season - was really impressed with Werner even if he did miss a sitter.

Meslier - LUFC motm.

They have a team of Champions League players and we do not. They were too quick, too sharp and too skilful for us. We could not defend set pieces into our box either.
No excuses about the penalty or the crowd noise

Thought Meslier showed why he is such a promising talent again today. Shame we keep conceding even when he does that. All or nothing, I guess.

Bielsa needs to get Rodrigo in the side for Alioski asap. He's done alright but he's just not that good.

No complaints about the defeat but we gave the ball away too many times in the second half admittedly Chelsea pressed us really well but trying to be too intricate instead of just doing the ugly boot up the field when you could see it was a dangerous stratigy to try and play pretty football against probably the best team we've faced this season but they will learn from this and we can go again Friday night and put this defeat behind us.

It does highlight the difference in player quality. One on one, we struggled whereas their players were comfortable in possession. Be interested to see player ratings.

Agreed, the number of times one of ours tried to beat one of theirs and it was their man who emerged with the ball

You’ve gotta live Coops and Alioski’s passion but they’re just not top level.

1st game we've been properly outplayed and no disgrace in that, two winnable games coming up, slight worry Llorente is short of match practice and think we need to sign a quality left back for next season,

Yep they cut our supply and put us under pressure like we normally do to others. They Matched our work rate and let the extra quality show. They looked bigger stronger faster and better. Probably because they are. They looked a really good side. Seemed to win all the 50:50’s and a few of our boys went missing too today.

Would like to know if we ever practise defending set pieces.

But hey we Dust ourselves down and go again.

It absolutely is a factor, especially if you're the player being targeted. Players should be able to deal with it. Just unfair that it can't go both ways.

Steady, Coops is club captain and Alioski runs around a lot so cannot be criticised!
