Or you're just crap
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we are that bad. Why didn't Mourinho show bravery and put attackers on the pitch instead of defenders to see the game out? He could have gone for the third and fourth. Leno could had a coffee to keep warm for the 2nd half because how things were he was practically reading newspaper for all we know.

Imagine coming onto an article, making an irrelevant comment then telling the OP to "fack off" and concentrate on what his article was about.
The Mighty Stupid Caaaant, why don't you fack off?
OP, Arteta lacks ruthlessness? Where are Ozil, Guendouzi, Torreira, Sokratis? Maybe he just rates the players he plays.
I doubt the owner will help Arsenal sign creative player and forward which they desperately need on January.
------
Doesn't he already pay £350k for a creative player? Hasn't he just given a forward a massive contract? Didn't he already spend £200m on the forwards we have?
Mourinho didn’t go attacking because he knew he didn’t didn’t need to, we’re toothless in attack pretty much every team can play the game they want against us because they know we can’t score more than 1 goal. We let the game go exactly how mourinho would like
Arteta did talk up being ruthless at the start with his non negotiables and it was something the players seemed to buy into, the whole working hard together as a team across all aspects of the game. He got seemingly uncoachable players organised. But for some reason we’re back at square one with a load of unorganised players coasting through games. It’s happened under 3 managers now
Facking Spurs fans! Parking the bus at home against a team in a "relegation battle". They actually make me want to cheer for the scousers this season!
Anyway, I think if the right players are available in January then the owner will cough up. There (should be) alot coming off the wage bill come summer time, so he will be good to invest 6 months early. Let's just hope Edu does it wisely.
When you think Hector Bellerin makes combined 11s thats some serious issue ffs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY5pFEIf9AQ
Just watch him for the first goal. Man can't even take a throw-in.
Said when there was that rumour of selling him last window for 20-25m if its true snap their facking hands off.
For me Leno Gabriel Tierney Partey Aub Saka are good enough to keep around. The rest need binning.
Arteta needs to show more too, he got the FA cup with some Tapas Pullis/Paellardyce tactics relying on Aub. Most their play goes down the left n hope Aub scores its predictable. Theres managers with lesser players on lesser wages etc getting much better football out of their teams. Hes not helping himself keep picking trash like Bellerin too.
Gunners_49,
With all due respect, Arsenal FC right now is a mess; on the pitch, on the sidelines and in the board room.
This swamp needs to be drained.

DJ - expect better from you
I’ll make it relevant then, Arteta is no the man you need,
He’s a boy walking in a man’s shoes.
You need an Allerdyce or a Hodgson to get you out of this mess.
Then you need a Jose or a Poch to get you back to a top 4 place π

To be fair you are just crap. Too many average players. Anyone decent you get wants to leave so you overpay them to stay, creating a strange dynamic where the player doesn't believe in the project, and isn't actually motivated to play 100% because the reason they wanted to leave is still there - the rest of the team is a bit chit.
I don't think you need an Allardyce or Hodgson, they're old hat. You need Sean Dyche - he could actually kick the chit out of the feckless bunch you have there and bring in players with pashun. Seriously though, you need a complete rebuild. But then you know that already. Can Arteta do that? Seems unlikely considering it's his first proper job.

I don't even know why Ozil isn't in the team, but that decision is probably coming from the top. We haven't seen since his paycut refusal. Yes, Guendouzi has a temper issue and I get that. Sokratis isn't centre back who isn't comfortable playing from the back and Torriera isn't cut out for the PL. However, I expect him to be ruthless for underperforming players instead of starting them each week. It feels like Arteta thinks there's going to be backlash if he drops Auba, Laca, and Willian, but we want to see a free-flowing Arsenal. I really think he could only get that from the Arsenal youth. I remember when Wenger wanted to drop a player he would say he's injured and this way the player wouldn't feel he has been dropped. It's a good protection that works on both the team and the player. Auba has lost hunger and Laca is done for the PL. We shouldn't have signed Willian and Xhaka mustn't start at all. He slows our game down.
Maybe the players he has to replace them aren't as good. Europa is quite weak at this stage and you can get away with fielding a weak team.
For the game, I have no idea why you guys kept crossing the ball in. You don't have Giroud or a striker like that in attack. PEA doesn't score many with his head.
Spurs and Jose were more than happy to let you guys have the ball. You can't create chances and all the crosses into the box (reminds me of David Moyes when he was managing United) were always going to favour Spurs defenders. Classic Jose bringing on more defenders at the end to see out the game and time waste. They'll be fresh for the next game.

I know Arsenal are in trouble right now, but, with all due respect, we don't need to be taking any lectures from the fans of a club who's most distinguishable attribute over the last 3 decades is the lack of any bottle. You are forgetting that this "crap" & "average" team still managed to pick up a trophy while Spurs celebrated finishing 6th.
Fair comment well made. I'm hoping Jose can finally be the one to sort out our frail mentality. There's no point having a decent squad if they bottle it in big games.
OP, Arteta lacks ruthlessness? Where are Ozil, Guendouzi, Torreira, Sokratis? Maybe he just rates the players he plays.
--------------
This is to me the biggest issue which most of us keep ignoring. People keep saying Xhaka is c.rap, he is the reason our midfield is so exposed, etc... and should be nowhere near the team.
And although that is true, Arteta didn't have to play him. He had other options at his disposal which he decided to ignore and then to get rid of.
Is a midfield of Torreira - Guendo not better than what has been on show?
As for the OP, Arteta is ruthless. A bit too much. He's frozen out our better midfielders and instead kept the crock of sheite. Looks at Spurs midfielders. It was so easy for them the defenders had the deck chairs out smoking cuban cigars throughout the game. Never at any point did the midfielders lose contol over to Arsenal.
People are forgetting that this squad of players went 2 and a half months without winning a game of football last season. They also then went on to win the FA Cup. So something is seriosuly starting to backfire behind the scene. Maybe Arteta has lost control of the squad. Maybe we were just always awful and we got away with it because Auba bailed us out last season. Whatever the reason, the reality is this squad is, at best, a mid table club. And now the players who actually made us punch above our weights have given up the fight.

You see, I disagree on the quality of the squad. Yes, we are not a top 4 team but we should be doing far better than 15th (possibly 16th after today).
If you were asked after the FA cup, what is the quality of the squad, knowing we would sign Partey and Gabi, I'm sure answers would have been different that mid-table.
One aspect which gets completely ignored of Arteta management is the coaching part. He has been around for a year now. Which player has improved? Where can we see his coaching ability?
So yes, he needs some additional players but he should also get more from the players at his disposal.
Maybe you are right and there is something behind the scene or maybe it is just our "new" approach of throwing 44 crosses per games which no one can attack. To me, that is not coaching because even Pulis can do that. That is just kicking the ball and hoping for the best.
My comment was deleted because it was in reply to another comment that was deleted. My comment by itself was not offensive. Just though I'd let everyone know.
Arteta has only one game plan . Attack down the left and give it to Aubabeyang.

IF you keep putting the same team and still can't get any points whether it is away or home. Then, the manager has to make drastic changes. Arsenal is slow for the PL, so i think we need some youth in the XI. Arteta is not taking risks even though he can clearly see Auba, Laca, and Willian have been poor. He probably feels they're the only ones who can save him from this nightmare.
