You do realise that it is impossible to bring him back at this time?
I am aware he cant be played till after the January transfer window. I'm asking the question who would want him back.
Not in the squad so can't be picked, and apparently "90% chance" of joining Fenerbahce in Jan. Doubt he will ever play for Arsenal again.
And no, I don't want him back.
And no, I don't want him back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
Such a waste of incredible talent and money. In my favourite top ten Arsenal players of all time. Will never forgive Arteta.
In case your asking. Not in order. Viera Bergkamp Henry Adams Arshavin Ozil Pires Cole George Brady.
Ozil was quite average for a long time leading up to Arteta’s appointment and even afterwards when he did play. However if performances were the reason for banning him from the team, then I can list 5 more players who have been worse yet still continue to play. Nothing has been leaked from dressing room about him being a bad influence either (none that I’m aware of anyway). I’d Arteta was doing well, it wouldn’t have mattered. But he isn’t, so questions are now being asked. Dropping Ozil was not good.

Because we are soft enough in the centre as it is, and he would make us even worse if playing at #10
Also, in the 10 games he had under Arteta last season he scored one, and assisted one. He adds nothing to the team, and is more of a hindrance.

Ozil's stats are from when we actually put a bit of effort into our pressing and work rate. If he went into the first 11 now I very much doubt he would improve us based on his form from the last couple of years. I suspect we'd be in an even worse position.
When I first did the name I had to use the accent to avoid the swear filter. Would appear admin has tightened that up even more now 🙄
I meant to add off the ball movement, too.
Fans still think Ozil can't get into this MF
Willock
Ceballos
Xhaka
Ozil is a different player to all of these but I would still have him over the joke players mentioned above.

Ffs 🤦♂️
So what if he came in and added an assist every game? With him, and Ceba & Xhaka behind him, in a 4231 we'd be letting in 2/3/4 goals every game!
With the lack of football Ozil will probably be off the pace if bought in.
However as a player I think it's been a mistake not utilising him.

You can't even make the argument that we have a MF that is always pressing, makes tackles and has made us more solid. It's a pathetic MF that gives us nothing going forward or does it help the defence.
I would rather try a MF that can influence what we do higher up thr pitch, which is scoring facking goals

But we are bottom of the league in terms of chances created and he still one of the highest in terms of creating chances, despite not having play for more than 6 months.

See my reply to Castor.
If we played 4231 with Partey sat behind him, then maybe, MAYBE I'd think differently. But as Partey has so far played an injured 45mins in total within that formation, I see no reason to have had Ozil in the team or squad.
