he's just not a very dynamic player anymore

I think the mere signing of him brought a feel good factor to our club, lifting both players and fans.

i think this was the main thing for me. I wasnt deluding myself into thinking he would be a main player. Hoping he can have a few more impactful moments off the bench and in europe though this season. Its not like we have paid as much as people think for this loan either, paying something like a third of his wages for a season.

He hasn't been given a run of games yet, surely it's about time.

Give him a chance ffs, always so quick to dismiss a player.

Who's dismissed him?

Still think Gareth bale is better than both Lucas and Bergwijn. Kane, Son and Bale are our best front 3. Hopefully bale will get the games over the Xmas period and prove his worth.

Our best hope for Bale may be as a supersub, only capable of being on top form for 20 or 30 minutes but can get us important goals in the latter stages of cup competitions or in big league matches.

I'd happily settle for that. Can't remember the last time we had a player like that. Llorente or Defoe maybe.

Against the teams we won't be able to sit back against he should be in the mix to start

He’s not fit, that’s all.

Look at Ndombele now, it’s like having a new player.

Destined to be a bench warmer, a very well paid one, cant see him starting in premier league unless were short

Nice to finally have a few real new signings to go with our 'like a new signing' players.

I think he's being gently eased in. By the end of the season, I can see him regularly starting and impacting games.

Bale will be fine. He is just part of a team of superstars now. He has already contributed. So I don`t know what the problem is.

It is horses for courses at the moment, Mourinho has been picking Bergwjin because he is better than Bale at doing the dirty work, tracking back, defensive shape etc.
Meanwhile Bale is building up his fitness in the Europa, he will start games in the PL also, but at the moment he seems to be playing within himself and scared of picking up another injury.

I bet he starts vs Palace.

Jose will have wanted a more defensive option in the big games, so as much as he may have wanted Bale in the team he didnt really suit the tactics. But at the same time Jose will realise that Bale will want proper game time (and needs it) so expect him to get am EPL start very soon.

He's hardly played for two years. It'll take a while to reach full fitness.

Look at our last 3 prem games... We needed 11 fully fit players that'll run themselves into the ground, tracking back and defend. Bale is not that player.

Bale started against West Brom in EPL.

Since then we've played Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

We've chose to use tactics that doesn't suit Bales fitness to start at the moment. But if those games had gone differently who do you think would have been coming on in the second half?

I'm not sure Joes will change much for the Palace game as he may want to keep same mode and consistency in preparation for Liverpool game.

This.

Though I don't think even at full fitness he'll be the same explosive player that left. He's an expensive Lamela at this point.

I really cannot comprehend that Spurs supporters are starting to question what was the point of Bale coming back.

Of course he was never going to be the player that left, but he will prove absolutely invaluable as the season progresses, and the squad is used fully. Surely no supporter thought he was going to be playing every minute of every Prem game.

He is a very invaluable member of a brilliant squad, and that is what you need if you want to be challenging on all fronts.

Only 11 can play in any one game. He will be starting Thursday no doubt, in a game that Spurs would like to win to top the group.
