Could have done with an easier game than this to get our season back on track
True and with games against Spurs and Man U coming up I think it's highly unlikely that we will be in the top half of the table by the end of the year
With Hulk evidently having been ruled out because of his age and high salary, Wolves now being linked with another player currently playing in the Chinese league, the former Albion and Newcastle striker Rondon
Wolverhampton Wanderers failed with a £19m move for Manchester City's 23-year-old left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko in the summer, but are ready to make another bid for the Ukraine international in the January transfer window.
Wolves are considering a move for 17-year-old Mainz midfielder Marlon Roos-Trujillo, who has represented Germany at under-19s level.
I did read we were back in for Zinchenko but cannot believe that’s true. We have Jonny, Marcal, Ait Nouri. Is the route to improved results to have a team of left backs?

Under the new Brexit rules clubs will not be able to sign overseas players until they are 18.

Remember the days when we were desperate for a LB and any mention of a possible signing was greeted with the response "Yes, yes but can he play at left back"
Actually, depending on where you read about him, Zinchenko is either described as a left back or an attacking midfielder. The latter would make him far more attractive to Wolves.

He'll be 18 next August, which will probably be the summer transfer window.
Fulham giving Liverpool the run around. 1 up and but for Alisson, could be 3 up

I think he would either play as a left wing back which is a position that we already have Jonny and Ait Nouri. Or left wing for which we have Neto or Podence
Think we have more needs elsewhere
With Palace taking a point from Spurs that's us down to 13th now
I'd probably take your 0-0 prediction right now Gem.
I'm surprised to see that Rondon is still playing he must be getting on a bit now, he had a decent scoring record but I'd be very surprised if he's the guy we're targeting.
I think Rondon is 31. If we could get him on a 6 month contract I would go for it but it’s not one for the long term. Apart from cover for Raul we do need some more attacking players in the squad. On Saturday we had Traore, Neto, Podence and Silva all in the starting 11 which meant we had no attacking sub. If we’re going to play 4231 then we should develop a squad of 6 attackers to choose from

Jonny will probably be playing right back a lot more when he comes back. That is his natural position.
Zinchenko is actually a midfielder who has filled in at left back. So with us trying Saiss left wing back this season too, perhaps our goal is to have a number of players who play out of position in the left back area.
Not sure how I'd want to approach this one. Play 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 and we might be a bit more solid, but will allow Chelsea to dominate us and will probably struggle to get out our own half. It certainly won't help with our goalscoring problem.
4-2-3-1 means we are more likely to create chances, but might leave us a little open at times. 4-3-3 we don't get enough support to the central forward and were very passive against Liverpool.
Personally I'd stick with 4-2-3-1 and try to take the game to them. It will be interesting to see what Nuno does though. I imagine it will be 4 at the back as he can be quite stubborn with his systems for a period.
Wolves were linked with Hulk recently. Reading now that because he is playing in what is a low ranked league in China, and hasn’t played for Brazil since 2016, the post brexit rules mean we wouldn’t get a work permit for him even if we wanted him

Happy Brexit everyone.

If you thought 2020 was bad, 2021 brings you a nation subsisting on potatoes and bread, both oven ready deals that you can get from your local food bank, whilst exports of British cod and hake rot in the back of trucks on the M20.
Maybe this year instead of Christmas presents we should all be stockpiling all the fruit and veg we import from the eu
The venue for Albion’s U23s is as attractive as you would expect as they play in the shadows of the elevated M5 and electricity pylons
In the U23s Black Country derby Albion were 1-0 and 2-1 ahead in the first half with Shabani scoring for Wolves
Wolves totally dominated the second half and after an equaliser from Buur, two goals from Corbeanu wrapped up a 4-2 win
