Yeah looked the other day on Ebay, they're going for 1000 euros atm here. Outrageous.
supply and demand they're worth what people will pay
I do think people should simply wait. But it's Christmas and little Billy needs a PS5.
But there is simply not enough PS5's to go around, My boss at work wants for his kid, But there are just none out there. Unless you are prepared to pay way over the odds.
I also know a guy who has a PS5, but it sits unopened, mocking from his kitchen table. His Mrs won't let him open it till Christmas

Control your woman Amiga.
I spotted this also walking past my local CEX, it was also selling for around the £800 price. That's scalpers for you, and CEX just follows suit
£650 cash CEX near me will pay you if you give them a boxed PS5, on sale in their window for £815 currently.
I pre-ordered from BOX.co.uk in September, which I believed was for release day, however they never received enough stock and I was about 7,000th in a queue and wasn't likely to get one until January
I then managed to get a pre-order on 2nd December from Amazon, and Smyths which both said mid-December delivery, I was just going to cancel the other one as soon as the first took payment and despatched but the thought of selling it for easy money at this time of year was tempting tbf.
First one came from Amazon a week early, but ended up keeping the Smyths one on order and a guy at my mates work who'd been trying to get one since release day bought it off me for retail price, although he threw in a bottle of rum and a crate of beers for me
Same story with graphics cards for pcs at the moment, sold out everywhere.
Ones worth £130 being sold for £200+ etc
Mike how much did you pay for a ps5's?
£449.99, standard cost for the disc version.
Originally had the Digital version on pre-order with Box but decided against it in the end.
At a recent visit to a Tier 2 pub, a young chap walked in with a PS5 under his arm (still boxed).
When asked how the frig he got hold of one, he said he ordered from Amazon DE and got one fairly easily. He said the only difference was the plug which was simple to change and that the console would work exactly the same.
Don't know how true that is?

100% true - Playstation has always just used a kettle lead and is Bi-volt
Yeah saw a few on Twitter grab them from Amazon Germany/Holland etc but they sold out pretty quickly too. Even saw people from the US getting them from the UK Amazon, paying, then having their orders cancelled.
Was there this lack of stock on PS4 release? I don't remember
Not sure exactly Greg but I really don't think so, nothing like this anyway. I didn't get one on release day, can't remember if I just didn't bother to pre-order or couldn't, but I walked into Argos about a week after they came out and bought one (without ordering).
There’s been a lot more resellers buying them up this time round.
I do find it a bit odd the amount of people looking to buy one already though at those high prices, I don’t think the games are there yet to warrant paying over the odds.

Some proper weirdos about.
Why bother paying £700-£800 for a ps5 when in a couple months you can get one for less than half that... Especially as you say, the games just aren't there yet.
There really is no point.

My local CEX has a mixture of tatood feminists and emo blokes, one of the girls has a tattoo right across her chest with her droopers hanging out, the other has very few teeth and a tash.
As for the blokes they seem friendly but look like they need a bath.
Yh agree about the staff. Proper weirdos.
