A 3-3-4?
------------ Alisson
---- Toby -- VVD -- Dier
Fabinho - Hojbjerg - Thiago
Salah ------------------- Son
---------Kane ---- Mane
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’d get killed out wide if you did that. I don’t think that team finishes top 4

How would a front four of Son, Kane, Mane and Salah best be utilised? I don’t know what Liverpool fans would think but I’d imagine you’d consider doing something like
Kane
Son Salah Mane
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think it is best utilised. Which is why I’d only put Kane in the Liverpool starting eleven.

and youre a wum
As said above, I don't think it is best utilised unless you swap Dier with Robterson perhaps? That way without the ball Fabinho can drop into a RB position and end up with a side like this, without the ball
------------------- Alisson
-- Fabinho -- Toby -- VVD -- Robertson
--------- Hojbjerg ----- Thiago
--- Salah --------- Kane ------------ Son
-------------------- Mane
That's without the ball, although Salah/Son could be pushed on in a front 3 so it becomes almost like a 4-3-3, without the ball.
Liverpool were happy to play a front 4 against Man City - I do think it could be well utilised. However I do appreciate it doesn’t necessarily mean the best formation.

I think their injuries forced them into it.
If Liverpool would have had Thiago and Fabinho available then Jota would have been on the bench.
Liverpool have the best team in the league. And it’s the midfield set up that allows for them to excel.
You could completely changed the make up of the defence and midfield to try and shoehorn Son into it. But then you’d not be optimising one of Salah or Mane and their full backs.
But put Kane in and you make Liverpool’s starting line up even better than it already is.

You basically just elaborated on what I said
I do agree that Kane would be the only signing at difference maker. I would rather Toby than Matip though.
Not really, because I disagree it would be well utilised. I don’t think those four players can coexist in the same team.
It was well utilised against Man City though?
I think Matip is better than Toby nowadays. Though his injury problems make it difficult to compare.
Not really, they started the game quite well and were lucky to get away with a point in the end. And it wasn’t Kane and Son playing in that team anyway, it was two different players.
Wouldn't say it was well utilised as we didn't win and actually should have lost as well, there is a reason why we haven't seen it since.
I think it's hard to compare both teams really because of the contrast in style. For example, Hojbjerg stands out in Spurs' team, but would not fit into Liverpool's team as he wouldn't get in ahead of Fabinho, Henderson or Wijnaldum in the Liverpool set up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Toby has been underrated recently due to the fact that an absolutely dreadful setup around him made him continually exposed - which would make any CB look worse than they are. Look at how much better he has been since PEH has been in front of him than the car crash of Sissoko/Winks
Yeah maybe. Mourinho’s defensive tactics are helping him become less exposed. He’d look a mess again defending for Liverpool, I reckon.
Tough to know really. At their peak all the Liverpool CBs had to do was head the ball away and ping the ball long to create for the forwards.
Now the press is out of sync they are way more exposed
It is tough to evaluate currently though, Dier is a quality CB when the ball isn’t being played in behind him. Hence why he’s looked so good the last month or two for Spurs. Play a high line and he’ll be a car crash again.
Yeah that’s the thing. Defending with ten men helps the cb’s.
Helps the shot saving specialist goalkeepers as well. No coincidence that Lloris/DDG have looked at or near their best under Mourinho
That’s true. Keepers have done well under Mourinho, but he’s always had brilliant keepers. De Gea was amazing before Mourinho as well.
Not sure what happened Lloris but he appears to be back to his best.

On form, I think Hojbjerg walks into Liverpool’s midfield.
He’s exactly what they needed against Fulham, who the Liverpool midfield couldn’t contain at the weekend. Fulham completed eleven dribbles, and had a lot of opportunities (relative to the amount of possession they had) from through balls.
Hojbjerg is going to deliver you positional discipline, and from that, interceptions and ball winning tackles. I’d have him over Wijnaldum right now without thinking about it.
