Then he’s pointless mate. We didn’t buy him as a defensive midfielder. If he can’t offer us anything in attack, then someone else needs to take his place who can. Up you step Gareth.

Don, i get your point, but under Jose you need the wingers to be able to play like a defensive midfielders too. We dont play expansive football anymore and not sure Bale can do the tracking back and be disciplined.
First of all he needs to overcome his illness to have a chance of being involved on Sunday. Even if he does he will probably start on the bench. I reckon he starts against Stoke.
As for dropping Stevie B, for me he deserves another chance. He will be hurting he didn't bag yday so hopefully he will play in Sunday to rectify the missed chances of late.
Morning Don. I do expect Jose to now take off the handbrake. He did what he had to to over Spurs most difficult part of the season, and dig out a few results, whilst still trying to manage Thursday night football.
Now that Europa is out of the way, I expect Spurs to go all out attack now, and start blowing a few sides away.
Jose has manoevered Spurs into a great position, and expect the wins to now start piling up again.

When we play Hojberg and Sissoko, we have enough protection mate. I really don’t think Bergwijn going to make much difference to how we defend. He looks bloody unfit if I’m going to be honest. I do like him, but as a squad player. Don’t want to get rid, as I feel he’s useful off the bench and also against lower teams, but Gareth Bale should be starting with Son and Kane
The squad will all play its part this season. So all players will be given a go. Spurs still have plenty of players to come in if needed.

He was our best player, bar Aurier last night, and was just the sort of player needed in the big away games.
If Spurs hadn`t missed sitters, they would now still be top of the table. Nothing to do with Sissoko.
It's been said many times before, but we need that third player to contribute with goals and assists to supplement Kane and Son. We're all hoping for that player to turn out to be Bale, but the jury is still out.
Little rumours of Dybala in Jan circulating.....
Bale was made for these sorts of games. I feel he probably would have been brought on were he available and you don't doubt that he'd have done a better job than Berg with his chances. It's that sort of quality that makes a difference in these games.
Bale already has as many goals as Lucas and Berg in far less minutes so that sums it up.

Exactly mate and Bale hasn’t even looked that fit yet, but has scored 1 goal in the premier league and that was our winner against Brighton. I’m sorry, but he would of buried that Bergwijn chance last night. If Bale gets a run of league games and fails to impress, I will hold my hands up and say I was wrong, but I will stick by my guns. Bale will be a success here and is the best player out of Bergwijn and Lucas.
Bergwijn is absolute garbage as part of a front 3
Couldn’t finish a dinner, he cost us 3 points
Lucas is a waste of space too, when was the last time he did anything?? Still living off the Ajax game
Bale is finished, I still think Jose didn’t want him and it was just a levy vanity move
Get Dybala, although I can’t see why he would wanna play for Jose in this style of football tbh

Berg and Lucas aren't really starting material for a title challenging team. Bale as we know he can play, is more like the required quality. Now whether he can ever be good enough that he can be a regular starting player alongside Kane and Son I hope he can, but the next best thing is if he at least comes on as a sub to have an impact, which he has already sometimes, and even in that capacity we'd probably see more telling contributions than the other 2.
Don't think Bale deserves to be starting. Sure, Bergwijn missed chances, but he also got in the positions to get them. I doubt Bale would have been able to get in behind.
Bergwijn reminds me a bit of Son in his first season. Looks a good technical footballer but not yet got confidence in his finishing. I think he'll become a very good player for us.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think we need to upgrade him, we just need to only use him agaisnt the big boys when Jose’s preference is to sit in and counter. That tactic should not be deployed against anyone other than the ‘big six’. Sissoko shouldn’t have started agaisnt Palace, in those kind of games we should have either Ndombele or Winks starting alongside PEH, and wheel out Sissoko for when the bus needs parking as he does a simple but effective job in those games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah he can be good off the bench to close up when we are 2-0 up in those sort of games.
at the end of the day what is he like 31 now? he did ok in parts yesterday but the way we play he's starting every prem match and looks like he is blowing out of his arris. No real replacement in the squad, same with Hojbjerg. Jose doesnt fancy Winks or Ndombele there.
Give Bale a run of games in the league, that’s all I’m saying. Bergwijn and Lucas have had plenty of chances.
I like Stevie B...I think he offers a lot with the defensive work, he is strong, quick and physical.
I think he is suffering with confidence a bit but hopefully get a goal or two then he will pick up and get the assists and goals we need from him.

I definitely think Bale will play a lot this season in the lesser games. But you cannot really fault Jose tactics in the big games, only losing one to Liverpool, and beating Man United, City and Arsenal, and drawing at Chelsea. So not sure anybody can really complain to much. Used to be a time when Spurs were looking at no points from that lot, and they got 10.

I'm pretty happy with our points total so far.
The big test for Jose now is getting us on the front foot and winning the 'easier ' games coming up. This is where we have stumbled a bit this season.
6 games left to we reach the halfway stage. If we're around 40 points it has been a great start.
