Nelson in for Martinelli then. Not the start to the evening Arsenal wanted.
Arsenal say the change is just a precaution.
Hope so.
Hope so too, would also show signs of good management in terms of Arteta protecting his players longer term and also show he's learning

"Precaution" only means he'll be out for 5 weeks instead of 8.

What happened to Gabi?!

Look like he rolled his ankle in the warm up rondo
What does Maitland need to do to start some freaking games.

Some sort on ankle injury. He's standing now and is walking off the pitch. Seemed like he was in tears. He's now gone down the tunnel, but was moving pretty well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do worry that Gabi and ESR are made of glass, no matter how good they are
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure why with ESR but when I see Martinelli, he strikes me as a player who's a physio headache because he just won't damned well "quit it and rest that muscle," when told. 100% dynamo at all times. Gotta keep an eye on those ones to stop them harming themselves at times. He's probably already done a good 10-20 KM further than told to, on the bike today before coming. Teenagers don't listen and footballers are no different there

Don't forget he is giving plenty of minutes to ESR, Saka and Martinelli. If you're good enough, you're old enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plenty of time? Have ESR and Martinelli not play 2-3 games max?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ESR has had injuries, started the last 2 league games and is being rested today. Martinelli has also had a big injury and been getting minutes ever since his return. Not sure what the issue is here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, you are the one who said they got plenty of time. I've just highlighted that we have probably played 25 - 30 games so far and they have featured only in 2 or 3 of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because they've been injured. Now they are ready, they are getting plenty of minutes. You can use theemoji all you like, I don't see what's so difficult to understand.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because what you are saying is just speculation. Maybe they'd have featured if they were fit, maybe not.
Prior to his injury, Nelson wasn't getting a look in the PL at all.
You can also speculate (might as well) that if Willian hadn't been "sick", ESR wouldn't have been giving a chance.
Look a bit light in midfield to me , hope Im wrong
Looking forward to seeing Nelson, even if I'd rather watch Martinelli.
Holders sleeve patches look good

------
Probably because the Arsenal fans were sick too, of Willian and Arteta too. Arteta had little to no choice. This ain't a man who didn't know we were better equipped to play the way he has reverted the team back to. It's one who wanted to prove something doing it his way. Then couldn't afford to take the risk his way would fail again.
Will Willian actually do something for once?

You have a point with Nelson but I would argue he isn't any better than Pepe or Willian.
We just need to send Nelson on loan to a PL team or a championship side. The guy needs games to see if he can cut it.
Nelson is so talented. I know his development stalled, but he was once the jewel of our academy for a reason.
Those saves will give Dubravka a bit of confidence
