Xhaka is not playing left back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You know what I mean. He is playing an advance position and is meant to cover Tierney
This is leaving us open in MF
I don't think you are. We were sloppy when 1-3 up but we saw the game out pretty well once we got our heads on and being naive isn't like it's an ongoing problem for us.
It's a good away win where we might have fallen in the past and other teams around us have tripped up.
Why can't City just play City up front
Hate this awful false 9 garbage they play.
United will probably nick it

A more experience team would not allow to keep it close as we did in the end. Finish them off and that's it.
If we plan like that against Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd we will lose. Xhaka, Partey, Tierney , White all poor today in their defensive duties. Even Ramsdale not on his A game.
The game exactly shows why we wont finish in top 4 imo. Too naive.

This was the exception to the rule one thing Arteta has done is make us more streetwise. I'd like to think its a one off. We are in the driving seat so if we can keep being consistent then we will finish fourth we have a better all round team than United and Tottenham.
I think a bit of complacency creeped in at 3-1 with the two goal cushion. If it was 2-1 I don't think we'd have been as sloppy. I don't think we'll be sloppy like that too often.

Perhaps, but considering the inexperience we did well in the end. We could have folded after their second goal but people stepped up and took responsibility and saw the game out.
Utd couldn't even get into the situation to see a game out vs Watford in the first place and they're our biggest rivals for 4th

Yes, but he isn't playing in defensive midfield or covering defensively at all and still allowed Sissoko to run off him to get in.
I think you can see we miss Tomyasiu and that's not saying Cedric has been bad it's just that he offers a better balance at the back.
Arteta is committing to a bit more attacking football. So some counters are going to happen as we continue in our push for top 4. We won comfortably. Should have got 2 or 3 more goals and as attack more those will come. Forget trying to hold on with one goal leads.
We were winning comfortably until they scored. Watched Arteta’s post match interview. He wasn’t pleased with certain aspects of our game today so hopefully improvements will be made before the big games coming up. Still not convinced by White. For me he was partly at fault for their first and definitely their second. Also defensively Tierney has not been that great lately. Xhaka and Partey were very average today
I thought Partey was the best of our defense but that wasnt saying much.
Have to agree that Ramsdale/White/Gabriel/Tierney/Cedric and Xhaka was pretty poor today but we got the job done.
To his credit Cedric has been playing well and have stepped up in Tommy absence.
Not the most convincing of performances, but a win is a win.
That's 4 wins on the bounce now. Roll on Leicester.

Team as expected. Smith Rowe is back and starting from the bench.
Watford with a massive win
They werent too passive before someone asks.
Guess Barnes against Cedric will be the main challenge
I see Chelsea cheated their way to victory today

And to think VAR micro watched Xhaka foul against City which resulted in a pen and then doesn't even bother with the Chelsea clear pen.
