We are still 3-4 players away from competing in the PL over a full season - including a quality central defender and an out and out goal scorer

Not an issue depending on the nature of his play. You can tell tracking back and defensive awareness is something that Sambi barely thinks about, at the moment it feels like he's constantly too late to realise where he should be defensively so doing that job badly as well as being hampered with his attacking instincts. He should have been backup for Xhaka in these EL games
