Wait a second. Was Gabriel passing square? and it came off the Everton player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't it have to be a deliberate pass from the opponent for it not to be offside?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. but Arsenal player needs to be making an intentional pass to eddie (even if it is then defelected). And I am sure it looked as if he was passing square.
*‘Deliberate play’ (excluding deliberate handball) is when a player has control of the ball with the possibility of:
passing the ball to a team-mate;
gaining possession of the ball; or
clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it)
If the pass, attempt to gain possession or clearance by the player in control of the ball is inaccurate or unsuccessful, this does not negate the fact that the player ‘deliberately played’ the ball.

Might be off but kind of weird how they didn’t show much on the VAR replay
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But it was from an Everton player playing the ball. Eddies position is irrelevant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah might have been. Just seemed weird how there wasn’t much debate over it and replays. Quite hard to see what went on. Yet another VAR calamity

Rotated. But Arteta would never let on if he has been carrying something.
I thought they were checking on the through ball that led to the goal. There is no way that Everton deflection can result in offside. Absolute fking joke.

Yes. Not sure how Beto clearly making a play to cut out the pass is not deliberate. Absolutely shambolic.
