Doesn't even have to be in that particular position. We were under the cosh. I'd just get the fourth official to raise his board and disrupt the flow of the game for the sake of it.

Then the worst part is our own fans justifying this utter crap. The ref has completely changed the game for...what? A tiny little kick away? And he's suspended for the next game so he's influenced that too.

Yeah we deserved to lose home to Villa and away to Fulham, nothing to do with ref in those games and a few champions league games last season too and the cup ones as well. Not many players get booked for kicking the ball away especially if it is only a few feet!

Indeed, I will agree when I see it happen with no card in other matches, I don't think refs are NEAR good enough and the biggest gripe I have is lack of consistency , I will no doubt see it over the weekend but it wasn't me trying to wum or have a dig mate

Cos he wanted to I guess. I'm not even sure Rice was trying to kick it away, ball just rolls into him and he taps it back. No way of knowing Veltman would be trying to take the free kick cos his back is to him and the ball is rolling and would have had to be retaken anyway.
It should have been a red to the Brighton player. Absolute shocking call.

Have you lot ever not blamed the ref for a loss? Your not allowed to kick the ball away and Rice was correctly carded

Yes and I have no axe to grind or bias, if Declan had simply left the ball alone no card mate? Do I hate those kinda calls? Again yes but he's smart enough to have known not to do it

Fair enoughbut I dont honestly believe I am here, Declan just gives it a wee touch, If my opinion counted I would have just let it go as a ref but this ref didn't, I also felt the ref had a poot match overall but thats another matter

Indeed, I will agree when I see it happen with no card in other matches, I don't think refs are NEAR good enough and the biggest gripe I have is lack of consistency , I will no doubt see it over the weekend but it wasn't me trying to wum or have a dig mate

All rice did was push the ball clear of his path - the ref must have been watching VERY closely - even to see it

Cos he wanted to I guess. I'm not even sure Rice was trying to kick it away, ball just rolls into him and he taps it back. No way of knowing Veltman would be trying to take the free kick cos his back is to him and the ball is rolling and would have had to be retaken anyway.
