With Xhaka at LB, Martinelli does not need to work back to defend. Something that would work for Auba as well.

That's a good point, but I feel like having Xhaka doing the defensive work and Ceba doing the overlapping leaves more space in the midfield which a team better than SU would exploit

I wonder if Arteta is going to start Saka in the no.10 role on Thursday. Maybe worth a try. Xhaka at LB working well so far.

Arteta has been overthinking Tierney, Auba is far more dangerous in that role. But Arteta forcing Auba to defend, so that Tierney can over lap has been our undoing recently.

But with Xhaka role is not expected to overlap so the forward stays in the danger area.

I.think Arteta will want Xhaka in the middle on Thursday

Whats more Xhaka is comfortable with the long ball from LB area to Martinelli running behind so the opposition find it more difficult to press.

I wouldn't be surprised if Utd press on Xhaka second half to stop that outlet.

Martinelli playing well so bound to be hooked for Willian as first change and then not get a sniff on Thursday until we're in the shiiit. We really need a manager who knows what he's doing.

Good defending at the end but the way the bloke ran past is a bit worrying.

Chambers did well.
