I also have doubts about a GK being captain, prefer someone that is further up the pitch and more involved in the match.
Shinnie as Captain.

Have we got an interpreter in the team?
According to Wiki, the 2009 survey for the best 10 goals, as voted by fans, had 5 scored by Scots. Top was Wanchope of course 🏴
Rioch vs Newcastle FA Cup 1976?
Gemmill’s FA Cup free kick against Forest, 1983ish?
McGovern vs Liverpool 1972?
Pearson at Wembley?

Cheers Scouse. I was at that match. Best, Law and Charlton. Not as good as our players though.
This one takes some beating (fast forward to 1m50s):

I'm going to bed in a sou'wester.
Is there a chance Abu Dhabi got East Midlands n Middle East mixed up. Maybe we're just victims of bad geography. 🤷🏻♂️
Morning After View:
After our defeats to the Wendies and Rotherham I must admit I was full of trepidation before the game and tbh thought we'd lose 2 or 3 nil. The team though played as they can - and to a man fought and battled all over the pitch.
The much mooted take over still hasn't happened and so the club needs to kick the Sheik into touch. Mel has a healthy bank balance and although it's diminishing due to lack of income due to the lock down of football, which as we know = no income he needs to get the club back on a firm footing, pay those who haven't been paid and give the Manager some leeway over a bit of transfer business.
The game itself - we did what Preston, Sheffield W & Rotherham did to us. Lets face it though had we got the 2nd goal - which we deserved we wouldn't have sweated so much in the last 10 minutes. Credit the team though for keeping another clean sheet. They all played well - but to single out a few names Clarke (sporting a lovely Shiner), Bielik, Shinnie and Knight were superb. Onwards to QPR....
Really pleased we beat Bournemouth. Couldn't stand to see a poxy little club like that with it's 10,000 or so crowds in the Premiere league. Hopefully they will decline like Wimbledon/Milton keynes to their true level.
No! Its brilliant to see "smaller" clubs break up the hegemony of the Premiership. I always support promoted clubs, yes, even Leeds.
Glad we beat Bournemouth though
Yes, when we were in the semi-finals of the European Cup, what would we have thought if fans of clubs such as Real Madrid and Juventus had talked of "a poxy little club like that with it's 30,000 or so crowds in the European Cup"?

Went to Juventus, in the Stadio Communale then. What a tip, I don't think they had anything to boast about. It was similar to the old Valley at Charlton. When we scored some piece of **** Juve fan sneakily stuck chewing gum in my hair. Would have thought nothing about it. Our gates were decent for most of Europe, the pitch though was something else, but it was ours.

Great though last nights result and performance were, it really get on my goat that we can beat teams in the top 5 but not beat the teams around us ... the ones we need to beat.
I know opinions are divided on the 6 pointer concept but I'd rather we'd beaten Rotherham and lost last night.
We'd have the same points but would be 5 points clear of them, not just 2.
Yes, ultimately, its a matter of accumulated points over a whole season but taking points off your "rivals" matters more and we need to work out how to break down teams like Rotherham, Coventry or Sheffield Weds and go into those games with a more positive attitude.
Agree with that Peeder. The six pointer is alive and well ...
It is frustrating. Did we beat any top 4 teams last season? I suspect not. Last nights result, and 4 points over the two games shows what we are capable of. Consistency now what we need.

MTW wore the 6 shirt as did other greats like MacKay, McFarland, Stimac, Ross McLaren and others. I'm gutted that this wonderful player has gone and insist that Derby County retire this shirt.

How could I forget Richard Keogh from my list of our famous number sixes? I do apologise for my omission.
£2 million we owe him for an unfair dismissal. this will kaibosh any new signings. I think we'll be OK with what we've got though, as long as we don't get too many injuries.
Is that true? How, with all the HR advice available do we manage to dismiss someone without ensuring it was legal. He was a numpty but we still miss him
