I don't care, I'd welcome Avram grant back with Benitez, Sarri and Villas Boas as assistants if it meant Lampard was fired. I have no enthusiasm for Chelsea playing anymore with Lampard in charge because this team is going nowhere under him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we want there & re-appointed Grant (huh...) the question of who we'd bring in as assistants to make him look good this time is a very good question.
I see that Buvac guy, Klopp's old #2, is in Russia atm? Coincidence?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would look like Chelsea had appointed Emperor Palpatine and Kylo Renn if Grant and Buvac took over.
Quite proud of that one if I don't mind myself saying.

That is unless he loses the first couple of those easier games and he might be in trouble.

I don't know why but I just have a feeling that it could be curtains if they come away with a bad result. I could see Leicester winning 3-0, I really rate them at the minute and am a bit concerned as to how well they're doing. With all the title talk for City and Liverpool, Leicester seem to be below the radar and they're winning a lot. They might be a real stumbling block for United's title charge, one people don't see coming all that much.
Burnley for you Thursday night isn't it? How you feeling about that one?? Surely going to be a struggle for Liverpool, given the lack of chances created lately. Burnley are probably the last team Klopp wants coming to Anfield. Anything but a win and you may be out of the top four which would be a disaster.
I can't believe Liverpool potentially dropping out of the top four this year hasn't been acknowledged by many. Though I did see an article on Sky with Klopp, in which he stated that a top 4 finish this season is now his and Liverpool's priority so at least he's taking responsibility with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It could be a frustrating game on Thursday but we should come through that one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just see no way that Liverpool score, unless it's a penalty or something.
0-0 or a 0-1 Burnley shock for me.

On the basis that Liverpool can't break teams down anymore and Burnley are a side that will just park the bus. In fact Burnley are probably the worst possible team who you could face at Anfield at the minute, given your form.
On the basis that they are a threat from corners/set pieces and have tall, aggressive players to attack corners/set pieces who are all much taller than Liverpool's defenders.
Losing VVD and Gomez is a huge aerial presence for you guys.
Burnley could easily win at Anfield from a set piece, it's feasible.
A game in which Liverpool dominate the ball, don't score and then Burnley get a set piece.
OK Culer whatever you say.

Didn't Barca win the UCL that year though? Was it 05-06? Very much different to the Liverpool/Athleti game it would seem.
Also Liverpool have lost twice to domestic opposition in that time which Chelsea never did. If they'd only lost 1 game then it would be far more respected but WBA beat them

United are still crap, they got knocked out of the CL in the group stages. The fact they’re topping this car crash of a league (they won’t even be doing that when city win their game in hand) means nothing.

It's a hard one for me. I've been one of his fiercest critics - in fact I've been shouted down by many a Chelsea fan for saying how poor his tactics are. However, as a true Chelsea fan, it'd be great for us to find a stable long-term manager and it would have been great to see a club legend be that man. But his tactics are naive - going from being far too open to no creativity at all. Apart from Reece James, he's not managed to get anywhere near the best out of any of the players.
I'd have loved Ancelotti again. But any manager who plays attacking football from a structured base will do. A man with half an idea would be a big step up!
