The two previous times we have played Palace they have defended quite narrow and we have had a lot of success in wide positions. I actually don't think the formation is entirely important in this one, the main thing is that we keep the width when in possession. Do that and we will more than likely control the game and see Neves spreading the ball to flanks for 90 minutes.
It would be a good first game for Willian Jose to start too if we do that and actually get the ball in the box.
we know we have the measure of Palace from our previous meetings, key to beating them is stopping Zaha
1-2 wolves
No real excuses if we blow this one, beaten them twice, controlled both games. Big big game though either way, if we can't win this one and worse, if we play negatively it will be a massive blow and could set up a very edgy second half to the season.
I think without Zaha they would be one of the teams fighting for survival. How old is their manager nowadays, can’t carry on much longer surely
Seems that Ait Nouri picked up an injury at Chelsea so we will likely play Hoever on the right and Semedo on the left at Palace
Last season Spurs tried to sign Jose to replace Kane when he was injured. Yesterday Kane got injured again, maybe we got Jose just in time

I think Semedo looked decent over on the left, prefer him there than Saiss or Killman, the wing-back role these days relies on pace if that's were our width is coming from

everything you read about Jose indicates he'll be a great addition to us, so fingers crossed it works out. no dig at either Fabio or Cutrone but even in his cameo vs chelsea you could see the players felt we finally had a focal point to play into,
be interesting to see what happens when Raul's back would be nice to get them working in tandem

I know neto can hardly say, nah he's pants what have we signed him for....but
I suspect Raul and Jose will be too similar to use as a pair but let’s see him play a few games first.
In many ways the benefit of him coming in, and players returning from injury is that we will start to have a decent bench again. Over Christmas and the new year we had nobody on the bench that could come on and make a difference. That and actually having a choice of starting 11 rather than just the 11 that happen to be fit
yea look at chelsea we had 3 strikers on the bench
as you say having game changing options on the bench makes a huge difference
Southampton cup game now confirmed to be 17:30 on Thursday 11th Feb on BT
Inevitably the league game against them the following weekend will now be put back to Sunday or even Monday

I imagine it was very frustrating the last month or two basically having nobody playing up front. Willian Jose looked the business immediately when he came on and I think he will make quite a difference and we should start to look like we actually know what attack is at least.
Couple of days of the window left, I guess the only big news will be Cutrone staying or going. I suspect going will be the outcome and good luck to him.
yea we've all played at varying levels, nothing worse than having no outball for the defence, let alone how frustrating it must be for the other attackers having no focal point.
I know he turned us down in the summer but Maitland-Niles would be a good pick-up on loan, he plays RB but I;m sure i remember reading he wants to play CM or B-2-B midfielder - which is what we need some energy and drive in the middle
Good player Maitland Niles but not sure we need him for defence or wing back now. And as a defender come midfield player would he offer us much in an attacking sense? I suspect he would just be an alternative to Dendoncker. I think in midfield it’s a different kind of player we need to add to the squad

Strange time to play a football match tomorrow. 3pm on a Saturday. How many times have we played a game at that time this season
Definite no to Maitland Niles.
8am this end which works a great for once.
Nuno hinting at 'other problems' for tomorrow so I assume somebody else will be missing other than Aït-Nouri

This is our fourth Saturday game and the first with a 3pm kick off.
Was good to see Semedo getting the plaudits after his Chelsea performance. Seems he has now settled and will become a regular king-pin for the side.
Fabrizio Romano the main man for transfers has said that Valencia are in advanced talks to sign Cutrone. Great move if true and a little surprising.
